CHAPTER 17

" Eros, I would appreciate it if you tell me what alarmed you that you had to run like someone was chasing you," I shout as soon as I appear in Eros's apartment.

My voice doesn't seem to daunt him as he is pacing back and forth deep in thought, "nothing, I just remembered I forgot something." He says scratching behind his ear, bullshit. The distress on his face is enough to know something is really bothering him. What could have spooked him?

" Do not tell that nonsense." I know that he is lying but what I do not know is why. I am no stranger to this man; he is hiding something.

"I see it has finally happened." Hades' voice sounds out of nowhere before he makes his presence seen in Eros's home. Fuck me. He cannot let me have just one day of peace.

" What are you doing here?" Eros frowns looking at him unhappily. He is always up to no good. I do not know how other gods stand him.

Hades just laugh shaking his head, "so hostile but I can't miss vital moments of your life friend, Can l?"

I look at him confused, " what are talking about?" I ask annoyed. He is unbearable but he always has information. I don't know how he does it, but he knows a lot more than I like to admit.

" Oh, you don't have any clue, do you?" He says quite amused by the whole situation. He has a way of wanting to make everything mysterious so that we bag for the information.

"Just spit it out Hades or else leave, you are already walking on thin ice," I warn with a hard voice.

"What! Why am I walking on thin ice? What did I do?"

" You let an army of demons out of the underworld, you know how dangerous it is for Selene. Why are you even the head of the underworld if can't do your damn job? What is even going on down there?" My knuckles cracked as I clench my fist in anger. He knows how to aggravate me.

Hades flinch at my hard voice, "I did not do such a thing I swear, I don't know how they are escaping. I want to find out too. I swear." He raises his hands in surrender. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Eros trying to slip away.

" Don't even think about it, " he freezes when I turn to look at him.

Eros clears his throat, "You guys seemed to be in a heated argument so I wanted to give you space." He lamely tries to explain his pathetic attempt to avert my questions.

" Since you don't want to talk, I know Hades has a lot to say" I turn to Hades who made himself at home by sitting on the couch. He tends to make himself comfortable even if he is uninvited and unwanted. It pisses me off greatly.

He dramatically clears his throat, " our god here has now reached maturity, yes it has finally happened."

Eros's eyes widen in shock which slowly turns into confusion, " what do you mean by reached maturity, from the best of my knowledge, Eros has lived millenniums." I ask perplexed.

Hades nod in agreement, "but that doesn't mean he had matured, Eros can now have sex, today he got his first little boner. This calls for celebration, damn I wish Sus was here with his wine."

"How did you know that!" Eros shouts in mortification.

"Wait a minute, I thought Eros could not fall in love only?" I glance at Hades baffled.

He laughs out loud, " you consider yourself his friend, yet you know nothing about him as I do, seriously Eros you should reconsider your choice of friends.''

''Hades get to the point.''

''Fine, no need to get your pants twisted. He couldn't have sex even if he wanted to because he had erectile dysfunction." He winks at me. Gross.
