Ares takes my face with both hands, "Hey look at me, they just passed out. Let's get out of here to somewhere safe." He wipes my tears with both hands before grabbing my hand.
" I did that." I say, "I did that!" I repeat as realization dawns at me of what l just did. I didn't touch those bodies. " Did you see what happened? It's all a haze." I ask with an alarmed voice.
"No, I didn't"
" They were harassing me; I swear I didn't mean to hurt them like that. I just felt trapped, and all I wanted to do was scream. And I did. I felt like a ticking time bomb the whole moment they were taunting me. The moment one of them touched me the bomb went off, and I screamed...." I shiver whilst rumbling trying to justify my actions. Ares stops me with a kiss on my forehead, it is warm and soothing. My raising emotions promptly calm down into nothing but peace and safety. He tucked me under his arm, a hug I need. I breathe in his scent which is both intoxicating and calming.
"Hey, it's okay, they are not dead. Whatever happened there is nothing to worry about. Maybe you pushed them subconsciously when you were screaming. Adrenaline is a scary thing. They are going to be fine." He whispers calmly into my air stroking my hair.
"You-you think so?" I ask a little bit skeptical.
"I know so, now please take a deep breath and stop panicking."
I sigh getting out of his hold, " I don't know Ares, something is happening to me, and I can feel it. Ever since the dre...." I trail off not wanting Ares to know that I have been having dreams about him. It will sound creepy and most embarrassing.
" Ever since what?" He asks expectantly.
"Nothing that matters. I think you are right, there has to be some explanation for all this." he notices that I am lying but didn't call me out on my gratefulness.
"What are we doing here?" I ask Ares confused when we find ourselves standing in front of a restaurant. I did not even feel myself walking until now. How am I going to walk in dirty like this, it's embarrassing. And the way people are eying me is not helping either. I must be looking like a homeless kid. I am a mess.
"I just want to get off the edge that's why I brought you here. I know after what just happened if you go home, you will think too much. Someone told me food is your remedy for disaster. " He looks at me with soft eyes.
"Oh, thank you! But I cannot go in like this. I look too scruffy." I brush my hair with my hands self-conscious.
''No one will dare to judge the way you look which is beautiful by the way. Humans worry about the way they look too much neglecting what is inside...''
''And you are not human?'' I ask amused.
He smiles, ''Something like that. Now stop worrying about the way you look and just enjoy yourself.''
I nod grinning, ''okay alien Sir.''
He laughs opening the door of the restaurant, "My pleasure besides I can't pass any chance to talk to you." He winks at me as we walk in.
The waiter comes as soon as we sit at the table for two. He gazes at me with a weird look but that changes when Ares gives him death glares. His eye dead of emotions, it is scary, but I like the way he silently defends me. We place our orders and remain quiet until the waiter leaves.
"So, tell me about yourself, Ares. All l know is that you just showed up at my apartment looking for me." I say realizing that I know almost nothing about this man except my dreams. I may be with a kidnapper or murderer in desperation to tie him with the Ares from my dreams.
