Chapter 1 - Stay

"Wake up, Y/N."

Your blurry eyes slowly opened up, adjusting themselves to the bright lamp on top of you. You rubbed your eyes, attempting to get up from your lying position, stopped by a sharp ache in your stomach.

"Don't get up, my dear. You're injured."

You looked down, a bloody bandage having covered up most of your chest. You panic slightly, looking up to see the source of the mysterious voice.

It was Wally Darling. The Neighbourhood sweetheart, his heavy-lidded eyes pierced your soul as he looked at you attentively, caressing you so gently as though you would shatter. You looked around, releasing you were in Home. You were lying on his bright red couch, head lying on his lap.

"Do you remember anything, Y/N?"

You blinked, eyes still adjusting to the bright light. Groaning from the lingering
pain, you muttered out an answer.

"I remember being in my yard, and seeing something come out of the bushes. Then, I work up here."

Wally chuckled, petting you lightly, caressing your bandaged chest ever so gently.

"Mm, good. Good. You were injured, my dear. A wild animal came out and left a nasty gash on your stomach. You're lucky I was around to help."

He chuckled slightly, before sighing and going back to his soft smile. He petted you lightly, lifting your head up to remove himself from the couch. You frown slightly, feeling his comforting presence go missing.

"Wally, where are you going?"

"Going to retrieve your camera my dear, from your cabinet."

You smile slightly, but your happiness is short lived as a realisation sets in.

"Wally, who do you know my camera is in the cabinet? I don't recall telling you..."

"...or anyone in the Neighbourhood."

Wally looks back, chuckling slightly.

"Don't worry, Y/N. I think you're still recovering from the injury. If you wish, you could stay here with me at Home for the time being. You should stay here."

"Stay here with me."
