"Reenie."

She looked aside. Tony's eyes were full of worry as he gazed at his sister whose eyes were glowing red, a sign of her fright growing. Trinkets and books were floating around her, which she did not appear to be aware of. Seeing her brother's concerned eyes, Irene seemed to get aware of her surroundings as the storm in her head slowly subsided. The floating objects returned to their former locations as Irene took a deep breath.

"Are you alright?" He asked as he walked up to her.

"Yes, yes, I'm fine." She nodded in an attempt to reassure him, which did not appear to work. "What did you come? Want to talk about something?"

Tony stared at her for a few seconds and eventually said, "Uh, yeah, Alice called. She asks us to come to their place."

"Now?"

"It seemed urgent."

The twins immediately headed to the Cullens' house. On the way, Tony was clearly still worried about his sister. He knew that anxiety and fright could get to her and cause her powers to go Berserk. He would always do everything in his power to create an environment in which she felt safe, but Tony was not all mighty. And he could not protect her from her own mind.

When the twins got to the house, most of the Cullens were there, even Bella. Only Jasper and Emmett were missing, and all seemed quite stressed and troubled, which led the Goodwins to think that something grave indeed happened. Most of the Cullens were surrounding Bella, who was sitting on the couch. Esme was next to her as Edward stood close, anxious looking. The human was definitely the cause of the trouble. Perhaps it was linked to Victoria? Perhaps she had returned to Forks? Or will return to Forks?

"What happened?" Tony asked when he and Irene got to them.

"A vampire broke into Bella's house," Alice informed with a grave voice, which caused Tony to widen his eyes in shock and worry. He wanted to dash to Bella and make sure she was alright and unharmed, but he did not move and remained at his spot. Alice continued: "We thought you should be aware too. It might be an enemy."

As the two families were sharing territories and had adopted the same diet, the Goodwin could easily be mistaken for a Cullen. It had already happened. So if one of their enemies would come, the twins should be made aware so they could also defend themselves and not be taken aback by the situation. Also, as the Cullens had grown fond of the twins, they did not wish anybody bad to happen to them.

"Who was it? Someone, we know?" Carlisle asked Edward, who surely had been the one to notice the intruder's scent.

"Just a stranger. I didn't recognise his scent."

"A nomad passing through?" Esme suggested, but Rosalie shook her head.

"A passer-by wouldn't have left Bella's father alive."

The Swan girl felt a chill running down her spine. The thought of a vampire attacking her dad was scaring her more than anything else. She did not want to bring ill-fortune to Charlie. She did not wish to be the cause of his suffering, let alone of his death. She would never forgive herself for that. Sensing her fright, Esmw wrapped her arm around Bella's shoulders in an attempt to bring her comfort and support. At the same moment, Jasper and Emmett returned.

"His scent disappeared about five miles south of Bella's house," Jasper declared, coming to stand near his mate. He and Emmett must have followed the scent in the hope to catch the intruder or find any clue.

"Someone's orchestrating this," Carlisle realized.

"Victoria?" Bella proposed but Alice shook her head.
