More Than Words

Chapter 39

                    Hyewon and Eunbi soon reached their destination. As always, Hyewon went out first before opening the door for Eunbi. The older just smile at the gesture and went out.

                  "Take care going home", Eunbi said before walking into her apartment, not before turning one last time and waving to the girl. Hyewon just nodded and waved back, waiting to see that the older safely entered the apartment before going back to her car.

                   Eunbi opened the door of her apartment unit and saw something that made her furrow her brows. What welcomed her was a small envelope placed on the floor as if the sender slid it under her door.

"Who sent this? We have a mailbox in front though..."

Eunbi questioned as she picked up the letter.

"To: Kwon Eunbi"

                     Eunbi mentally read, but what caught her eye was that there was no mention of who sent the mysterious letter. "I guess I no other choice than to open it...", Eunbi whispered to herself as she sighed.

                   Walking to her sofa, she placed her bag on the center table and sat down. Opening the envelope, she was greeted with a sharp pain on her finger.

                     She hissed as she dropped the envelope, there she saw a perfectly placed blade on the opening of the envelope. The blade was placed so that when one tries to open it, they would cut themselves.

                    Eunbi looked at the envelope then to her bleeding finger, her eyes shaking out of fright. She picked up the envelope carefully and opened it, avoiding the blade.

                   She saw a folded paper inside and got it out of the envelope. She opened up the folded paper and read what was written.

"Surprised? Hope you like my presents. This is only the start Kwon Eunbi. Look forward for the next one."

                      Upon reading the letter she knew it was the caller immediately. "Wait- Presents?", Eunbi questioned before she felt a chill in her spine, realising something.

"That black car... That's why it deliberately tried to crash into our car..."

                       Daewhi arrived at his house after working on something. Entering the comfort of his home, he was greeted by his father sitting on his sofa, reading something on a paper while drinking coffee.

                      Daehwi politely bowed to his father after the older noticed his presence. "What made you visit, Dad? Do you need something?", Daewhi asked, earning a chuckle from the old man.

                   "You really aren't one to beat around the bush, huh?... Well, come here and let's talk", his father said as he motioned his son to sit on the sofa across him.

                   "Well... To start off... Donghyun invited us over at their house for dinner next week", he said as he lets down the cup of coffee he's been holding onto the table.

                   "For what? I presume this isn't just a casual dinner...", Daewhi questioned his father. He was sure that there's an ulterior motive behind this invite. The old man let out an amused laugh further confirming his suspicion.

                   "Okay you got us kid... The truth is, Donghyun is planning on getting you and Hyewon together", the old man said with a chuckle. "Does Hyewon know about this?", Daewhi continued, sure he likes the said girl but if this makes the latter uncomfortable or she opposes this, he would rather not continue.
