The Ties that doesn't bind...

Chapter 10

"Mr. Ivan, your brother is asking to be discharged... Can you please talk him out of it?"

Lilian looked at him...

"Talk to your brother and say what you mean, don't try to protect him... he doesn't need it..."

Ivan huffed... he dropped a kiss on her cheek... and went to the room...

Danil sat upright in bed... He looked flustered and tired...

"I asked the doctor to be discharged... It would be better If I were home... you and Lilian wouldn't have to worry about me..."

"Can we talk ?"

Danil took a deep steadying breath and waited for another outburst...

"Kim was right, you know..."

"Kim ?"

"Yeah... I neglected you... I have always wanted you to be safe... so I wanted you to avoid all the circumstances I faced... that was not correct..."

"I am not upset with you..."

"I am not sure about that... You are... and you are bound to be... But it's not going to go on like that anymore..."

"What do you mean ?"

"For starters, you have to stay in the hospital for a couple of days till we are sure you are at no risk... You scared years off my life brother... "

"Why?"

"You were way more injured than you looked, brother... we shouldn't have flown like that... the flight didn't help you, and by the time we landed you were in a critical condition..."

"Oh..."

"Yeah, Oh... So... Another couple of days?"

"Ok..."

"Here we are... Let me ask Lilian to come in..."

"You should get married to her, you know..."

Ivan froze...

"What ?"

"She is very kind... You have to keep her... I don't know how you managed to keep her all of that time without a ring... but I can talk to her on your behalf if you want... We are friends now..."

A small smirk played on Danil's lips...

"Oh, you have now... Fair enough... I will let you talk to her on my behalf later... for now can you please let us watch over you..."

"Isn't it hard with your work? She too must be quite busy..."

"none of that now... Let us take care of you..."

"Ivan..."

"Yes ?"

"Can I hug you ?"

Ivan collected his brother in his arms, and for the first time in years he felt hope that he can mend their relationship

Danil took recovering seriously, which eased Ivan and Lilian who didn't leave his side for a second despite his insistence that he was recovering well...

Lilian really took to Danil... She liked him as a younger brother... something she said straight forward to him... because Lilian lost her brother when she was still in law school... in circumstances which were similar to Danil's life of partying...

Kim and Kamol called Danil... Kim took the lead on the call... talking softly to Danil and telling him that they were friends... thanking him once again for defending him...
