‘Arghh…’,
Sofia opened her eyes while grabbing her head by her both hands. She heavily gasped when she saw nothing. It was not that everything was darkened, but it was too bright for her eyes. There was no beginning or an end. Optical illusion? No, it was the same place that she lived for few years. She was under the white room treatment.
But how she end up here again?
‘Doctor, she got her senses back. Patient number 230123.’
Dozen of crew barged into Sofia’s room. All were surprised with the calm nature of Sofia except one blond haired girl. She seemed to be in her mid twenties. She smiled when she saw Sofia was awake. Everyone left after checking the pulses her reports. Sofia was transferred into a normal room after few days of observation
‘Hi Good morning’, blond haired nurse entered with a tray of food.
Sofia was sitting at the edge of the bed looking outside through the window. She didn’t pay any attention to the nurse.
‘Can’t you remember me? I’m Alexa. Your friend who was with you, when you were admitted to the other asylum few years back. I was suddenly transferred to here so I lost all contacts with you.’, Alexa said while sitting next to Sofia.
Sofia looked at the nurse from top to bottom and again look out through the window.
‘Okay. So what are you looking for?’, Alexa again tried to start a conversation. As still she got no response, she looked where Sofia was looking. There was a kingfisher who was at the river bank. The sight was so peaceful.
‘You like bird watching? It is a good hobby.’, Alexa said while starting feeding Sofia.
‘No, I like watching the thing gonna happen now.’, Sofia said.
‘what does it means? what is going to happen now?’, Alexa asked softly.
At once, kingfisher caught a fish and ate it. kingfisher who seemed to be calm, but it was waiting for it’s prey. Alexa smiled when she saw Sofia was smirking.
‘What happened to me? I mean, how I came here? how I ended up here?’, Sofia asked but rather giving answers, Alexa shook her head while smiling.
Everything went normal for two weeks. small conversations with Alexa gave small relief to Sofia. today was her check up day.
‘Felix’, Sofia spotted Felix when she was taking for the brain scan. Felix was speaking to someone near the lobby. ‘FELIX’, Sofia started to shout. Staff quickly held Sofia tightly and few other attendants also came to help them as Sofia started to become aggressive. Although Sofia shouted many times, Felix didn’t pay a glance at her. One nurse came and inject Sofia and she became unconscious.
