I looked at him like he was crazy.
"Are you crazy?" I said.
He looked hurt.
"I'm sorry but I— I only met you a couple months ago! This is unprofessional!" I talk quickly, backing away from him.
"I'm sorry." He says, looking at the floor.
"What about your ex wife? Your child who now has no father? You'd just do the same to me! How old are you anyway?!"
"I'm 28.. You don't understand. I never wanted to leave them." He sounds like he's about to cry.
"What, so I'm just some rebound girl now? Some easy 21 year old? You're broken because you just divorced someone so you decided to go for a woman almost 10 years younger than you??" I'm shaking. What am I saying? I've wanted him to tell me he loves me ever since I met him.
"Me and Roxanne never worked out, Jenna. We filed for divorce months before I even met you. You're different than all the other girls I've met. I've been lonely until you almost fell over in that meeting room." Tears are falling from his face.
I feel like a horrible person. I have to go.
"I- I can't do this. I'm sorry. I have to go." I grab my jacket and walk out the door. I don't know where I'm going or if I'm coming back.
