|12 Hours before the Incident|

It was beyond dark out, and I looked over at the Seawing who was staring out at the sea. I had decided to join him outside the cave, looking up at the starless sky. It was if even the universe knew what I planned. A tiny bit of regret was creeping it's way into my brain and I let out a soft hiss.

The night went by; I had learned his name was Typhoon, an ex military troop who also had fought (by choice) within Scarlet's arena; how his partner had 'rescued him' from the arena and had made sure he would never have to fight like that again. Soon the break of dawn was upon the cave, I yawned and stretched my back before looking over at the injured female. Something seemed off and I groggily scrambled to my feet. "Something the matter?" I heard a cold and faintly harsh tone half growl and I turned to see the male Seawing had returned with fish in his mouth.

"Of course not." I said sternly, flicking my tail as his expression shifted to a more friendly one. Typhoon set 'breakfast' down and began eating. I of course, was not one to pass down food and ate as well. My gaze shifted over to the sleeping dragonet that was curled so closely to its mother. My pupils narrowed to slits as the though of stealing him crossed my mind.

"That's Rift, my partner" The Typhoon stated which brought my attention back to reality, tho the last part of what he had said sounded faintly bitter. I hummed a response to let him know I had in fact heard him, but since I was still eating I didn't wish to respond.

"Is she gonna die?" He asked, his tone giving away nothing emotion wise. "Nope! She should make a full recovery" I chimed, giving him a reassuring smile. Though it was hard to tell what he had said through the mouthful of fish he was eating, I could've sworn I had heard him say something similar to 'darn'.

But I wasn't about to jump to my talons and accuse him because I likely had misheard him. I turned my attention back to the dragonet, coiling my tail around myself. "That's Hurricane" Typhoon said rather blandly, getting up once more. Something seemed off about this whole situation, yet I couldn't quite yet place what it was..

Boy was I sure in for a surprise
