JIMIN POV
Not much later...
He tossed and turned, unable
to sleep when his career was going up in flames.
He stared at the clock, his mind an anguished, chaotic swirl.
His stomach hurt.
His head hurt.
Everything else felt sort of
numb.
He heard a knock downstairs
and frowned.
Again he eyed the clock.
Two a.m.
He crept down, fearful who would be knocking so late. He moved closer and checked the peephole.
Jungkook.
He flung the door open wide.
"I hear there's a problem you need some help with."
Jimin fought tears.
Who told him?
Kai? Impossible.
"I'll figure things out."
"Is that why you're still up at
two in the morning? Trying to come up with solutions?"
Jungkook leaned closer.
"I can help you. Let me."
He hesitated, he didn't want
to be beholden to anyone.
"Come in."
Once the alpha was inside,
he shut the door.
"Who told you?"
"A very drunk alpha showed up at my gate, claiming he loved you and hated me but that I
was the best choice to help you."
"Fucking Kai."
"Should I be angry that you
told him and not me?"
"With your grandfather and the business, I didn't want to
dump more in your lap."
"You have enough stress." He lifted his stare to the alpha.
"You're my husband."
"I vowed to provide and protect, remember? And if this really is hoseok's doing then I need to help clean up that mess."
"I screamed about wanting to
be independent, It's the reason
I used to leave your house."
"What's it say about me that I come running to you for help now? It would make me a hypocrite."
"More like too proud."
"You'd rather crash and burn than turn to me for help?"
"Help you have to know I
would offer in an instant."
He shook his head. "I'd rather not do either, I want to be able
to stand on my own two feet."
"You were before someone out there purposefully set out to destroy you, You can't be expected to stand on your
own in a situation like that."
He was silent, knowing Jungkook's words made sense.
"How about we call it a loan?"
"A loan I could never repay?"
"Come on, That's patronizing."
Jungkook smiled as he walked closer, He cupped Jimin's chin.
"Something tells me you'll soon be able to repay it in spades."
