JUNGKOOK POV

A few days later, Jungkook
stared at the calendar on the computer screen, instead of reviewing the documents that had just come through from Barton Industries.

He eyed the date, his breathing growing tighter.

The next full moon was almost upon them and he suddenly realized he'd soon find out if his omega was carrying his child.

An image of Jimin growing big and swollen came to his mind, and he felt his body stir.

Closing the calendar screen, he forced himself to return to the final sale documents.

He was so preoccupied, he had to start back at the beginning.

As soon as he'd read and approved them and moved through his mountain of emails, he got a call from Joon to
return to the hospital.

Jih was awake.

He leaned back in his chair, realizing there was a chance
he wouldn't be returning to
the building.

He looked around at his office, sensing he should feel a larger sense of dread.

But he didn't.

All he could think about was Jimin.

He wasn't sure if that was good or bad but something told him that as long as he had his
omega in his life, everything would turn out okay.

He'd build a new life with Jimin
at his side. They'd forge a
new path. Together.

Thirty minutes later, he arrived
at the hospital and found Joon waiting for him.

"He's been asking for you."

He's gonna drop the axe on me.

And he has every right to.

"I'm sure he has."

As soon as he entered his grandfather's room in the
ICU, Tae rose and smiled.

"I'll let you two talk." Tae
said before leaving, his voice
low and his whole demeanor
very un-Tae-like.

Once his brother left, He
finally got the nerve to lift his stare and meet his grandfather's.

"Hello, son."

He took a few more steps
inside the room and sat in the chair Tae had just vacated.

"You're still calling me that."

"Did you forget our argument?"

"No, I didn't forget it."

"I know my memory isn't what
it used to be but I very much remember that."

He eyed the old man.

"I'm sorry, I did this to you."

"You didn't." He said.

"I pushed you too hard and you pushed back, as any man would."

"I raised you to be strong and
to not suffer fools."

"I was being the fool, Not you."

"I think the world might stop revolving if it heard you say that."

Jih frowned.

"Tae gave me a little insight
into your mating with Jimin
and what hoseok did trying to force you into mating him."

"You weren't a part of that second half?"

"No." Jih said, shaking his
head.

"You said you would make your own mistakes and I was more than willing to let you make
them and deal with the fallout
of what happened after."
