There's a place I go where the train whistle blows
& the sky goes on for miles
A place where the coyotes sing you to sleep
& the sound of thunder awakes you from your slumber
Where the tumbleweeds roll
& the cactus grows
Come rain or shine
Come hell or high water
A place where you can touch the stars
& be kissed by the sun
Where the wildflowers bloom
& there's wide open spaces to run
A place of serenity
Where you can go & be free
Free from all of your sorrows
Where is this place of peace you may ask
Just grab your compass
& point it West
Leave behind your baggage
& everything borrowed
This is a road you must take alone
But I'll be waiting for you to come on home
Where the train whistle blows
& the sky goes on for miles
