I ran away from home. I just needed to get out. I feel chunks rising from my throat, my eyes starting to water. As I run, I don't even know where to. Suddenly I collide into someone. I almost fall to the ground before that person catches me.
"Woah woah woah, are you okay? Why are you running Y/N?" I recognize that voice. It's Jonathan. For some reason he is dressed in all black. He takes off the hood of his hoodie.
"I just...that picture isn't yours, is it?" I ask. Jonathan stiffens for a split second, before he goes back to normal.
"Y/N, I think you need some rest," suggests Jonathan. I scoff.
"Cmon, darling," says Jonathan. I flush crimson red at the nickname. I am offended but at the same time...no! I don't like Jonathan I can't. Not after I know what he might've done.
"Jonathan...I know what you are. There's no point in hiding it," I say. Jonathan stiffens once again, only this time, it's like something switches in him. His entire demeanor changes. I didn't notice it, but what he's wearing...all black...just like in the photograph.
"I did it for you. All of this for you! Remember when Jake went missing? That was for you too!" Jonathan yells.
"F-For me? Wait what?" I ask. I refuse to believe it. All of the evidence adds up.
"I love you Y/N! But no matter what I do, it doesn't matter! I go out of my way, I mean obviously I do, your best friend is missing! I try, and try, but you just don't notice me like you notice them, and I hate it!" Jonathan yells. I'm flabbergasted. This..I... I have no words! Is Steve dead?! No! He can't be! All of a sudden I feel lips on mine. No. No no no no. He did not just kiss me. I pull away, unsure of what to say.
I just look up at him and say, "Is he dead?"
"What?" Jonathan asks.
"Is Steve fucking dead?!" I yell. Jonathan doesn't answer.
"Answer! Please answer me!" I say. I feel the tears streaming down. I try to control myself, but to no avail.
"No. No. I-I thought about how much he means to you...and I couldn't do it," Jonathan answers.
"Is Jake dead," I ask. This time Jonathan stays quiet. And at that point, it's clear. Jonathan Byers is a murderer.
