Epilogue - The Big Day

“Sorry, I was actually trying to find someone to help me with that, so I’m not much good on that part,” he admits with a shrug.

“Not to worry, I’m here to save the day!” another voice practically shouts. “You’re so lucky you have friends who can tie ties.”

“Rayne! You’re here! You can tie bowties? And where is Zayn?” I query, looking about.

“Yes, I can, and I believe he’s with Greg in the other room. It was that or he said he was checking up on your other half…” Rayne replies, furrowing her brow in thought.

After a few moments of silence, I clear my throat, startling her. “Uhm, I hate to break in, but we kind of need your help…”

“Oh! Yeah, sorry about that,” she mutters. She walks over and takes the loose ends of my tie, moving them around before pulling them tight. “There! Your turn, Lou.”

I spin around to face the mirror again, admiring myself in it. I slip my hand into my pocket and pull out two things: the pocket watch that Liam and I decided to get for each of the boys as our traditional groomsmen’s gift, and a little black box. I reach my hand into my other pocket and pull out my phone so that I can send a text to my brother.

A few minutes later, Greg opens the door to the room and walks over to me. “I see you’ve found somebody to tie your tie,” he says as he passes Louis and Rayne. “Now, what do you need, little man?”

I roll my eyes at my brother again before holding out the black box. “It’s the best man’s job to hold onto this until the ceremony.”

*Liam’s POV*

“Breathe, Li; there’s nothing to worry about. You’re going to be fine. Okay? You need to calm down, and you need to breathe,” Harry repeats for what feels like the hundredth time today.

“I know, but how can I calm down? My wedding is in 20 minutes for crying out loud!” I remind him, my breathing still shaky.

“Yes, and it’s going to be wonderful, so you need to stop freaking out,” he retorts.

“He’s right, you know; there’s no need to worry. Everything will be fine,” Mikayla says.

We make eye contact, and I slowly nod. “Right. There’s nothing to worry about. Gotta stay calm,” I mutter, slowly breathing in and out. This is one of those times when I’m glad that Morgan and Rayne introduced all of us to Mikayla; after that night at Nando’s we all became great friends. It took awhile, of course, since those three girls live in Canada, but we were able to visit them some, and we kept in touch with them through text and Skype.

Now, you would think that being a part of a world famous pop band would make a guy paranoid about befriending fans, but those three proved to be trustworthy to me long ago. I mean, all three of them found at about Niall and I before we went public, but none of them ever told the media about our relationship until we were ready to tell the world. Heck, none of them will even agree to do interviews, even though they’ve all been offered money just to answer a few questions. That is part of why I trust them all so much, and is one of the many reasons that I’ve become such close friends with each of them in the past few years.

“Liam?” Morgan’s voice catches my attention.

“Oh, sorry; I was lost in thought,” I say, running my left hand through my hair. I decided to keep it a bit longer, so right now it has a lot of product in it to keep it from curling again. “What’s happening?”
