Emma had awoken not that long after Josh, her mother was there as well as Emma's younger sister but the girl hadn't uttered a single word.

Not to the doctors, nor her family.

It was as if her mind had completely shut down the moment she woke up. She hadn't spoken a word since she awoke, her mother had adjusted the bed for Emma, as her younger sister sat silently in a chair while playing on her phone. Her gaze was towards the window as there were two gauze squares, one on either side of her face from the bullet. A bullet that they were still trying to find. If at all.

"Hello, Mrs. ? I'm Kira Song, and this is my partner, Fredrick Louds, we're detectives from the Toronto police department, we were hoping to speak with your daughter."

"Oh, yes of course, you can, but please don't push her. She's... she's been through a lot."

Kira paused when the woman responded, she seemed a bit thin, and looked skittish sticking close to her youngest daughter. Perhaps she didn't like hospitals?

"Hi, Emma, do you think you'd be willing to talk?"

Emma motioned to her injury. "It's fine." She said rather softly, her speech a little muffled from the cotton that was in her mouth. "It hurts but I can speak."

"Well if it's too much to continue just let us know okay?" Emma nodded and Kira then took a chair and brought it near to sit by her. "Do you know why we're here?"

Before Emma could say anything a man stormed into the room, red-faced like he was about to scream. The wife, almost instinctively went to shield the youngest, using her full body to do so. "What in blazes do you think your doing!? Have you lost your mind!? If you weren't in this fucking hospital I'd—"

"Sir," Freddie drew the man's attention. "I don't know what you think, but storming in here and accusing her doesn't do anything for anyone."

The man ignored Freddie and looked to his wife, who kept standing in front of their youngest daughter. Her eyes were wide with concern as she never broke eye contact.

"Did you know about this?!" he demanded.

"No," she vehemently shook her head. I was visiting Logan when a nurse came in and told me that Emma was hurt."

He moved closer, and she moved a bit back, keeping herself in front of their youngest daughter who had her eyes glued to the ground.

"You brought Jessica for this?" he nearly snarled.

"Of course I did, she's too young to be left alone for so long and she wanted to see her brother."

He glared at his wife. "I swear, if I find out you're lying to me..." he warned.

Emma spoke up before her mother had the chance to say anything. "You'll do what? Throw her in a hole? Or will you make her disappear like how you helped Strudwick?"

Her father froze, looking at her with shocked confusion before turning to anger. But she kept going, having his focus on her then her mother, ignoring the dull throbbing pain in her mouth as she spoke, drawing him closer, spilling things he'd never want others to know.
