Elain had gotten bored of reading the same magazine for the fifth day in a row. At this point she just wanted to go home and lay in bed, at least then she'd have more options. Her Mom had gone home to pick up some things for Elain like her laptop for school, though with the way her arm was, using it for typing was going to be a bitch and a half.
Then there was a peculiar knock at the door. Sounded like the opening to Super Mario.
"It's open,"
The door opened and in peaked Vic who then whispered. "It's-a me! Victoria!"
Elain laughed. "Hi Vic, is it just you?"
"Nope, Robin's here too!" Vic said as she swung the door open wider to reveal Robin. "Aaaand we have someone else too!"
Iesha Bain then stepped into the room.
"Iesha?" Elain said slightly confused. "What are you doing here?"
Since Elain's hospitalization, she had informed her teachers, and Iesha, through her mother's email that for the foreseeable future she would not be able to attend class. Possibly a week to two weeks at most, mainly due to some internal bruising and bleeding from her injuries and the injury on her throat. Thankfully, the bleeding wasn't severe and was stopped, but it still hurt, like a lot. Worse than any period cramp she had ever had. It's also where she learned that her own blood from the slight bleed, was causing irritation to her internal organs and making it feel so sever. But thankfully with some pain meds it lessened to the point where she couldn't feel anything. Her throat on the other hand, would take a bit more time to heal, she couldn't even talk normally for at least three days.
As for her arm, a new graph had been given. Which now she basically had to start from ground zero of the healing process. Her biggest concern, as well for the rest of her family, was if any nerve damage had been done from Nick Green's forceful removal of the previous graph, and was given the vague answer of needing to wait and see.
It angered Elain, but she could understand, medicine wasn't magic after all, as much as she and many people wish it was. There was no instant cure, no immediate answer, it would take time to see how things would progress.
Elain hadn't really gone into detail given that it was an on-going police investigation, but as the news broke of the events, it didn't take people long to guess what it was for. One of Elain's teachers, Ms. Zorić, came to see her, the horror on the blonde woman's face when she saw one of her students in a hospital bed, looking like a half-mummy must have been a shock.
Though she said, to Elain's and the rest of her family's surprise, Ms. Zorić confidently stated that Elain should sue that horrible school and principal for all they are worth for something like this happening. She was appalled that something like this happened to one of her students, which was Elain came to learn, Ms. Zorić was rather protective of her students.
Be like a big sister, or a second mom, since some kinds were dealing with hard times and only wanted the best for her students.
Same with a lot of her other teachers, Mr. Fischbach, who taught geography and was also one of the several gym teachers, came to see her. Told her not to worry about her grades, or anything like that and just focus on her health.
Her new school was so different from her old school.
Iesha handed Elain a USB stick. "The file was too large; I couldn't email it to you."
"Oh," was all she said as she looked at the USB and then asked. "How many USBs do you have? I feel like this is the third one you gave me. Want me to give it back when I'm done?"
"You can if you want, but you don't have to worry about it now, besides, I have loads more at home anyway."
"How much more are we talking about?" Vic asked.
