Part 6-A Forgotten Memory

My mother and I were walking through the village to look for some ingredients for dinner tonight. While she was shopping I saw some of the people were gathering and decided to see what it was about.

Male villager: "Did you hear what happened!!"
2nd male villager: "No what is it?"
Female villager: "They say a body was found in the forests!!"
Male villager: "Who was it?"
Female villager: "They don't know it was unrecognizable!!"
3rd male villager: "I heard it was a demon that did it!!"

I was about to ask what they were talking about when I felt my hand being grabbed, I turned and saw my mother dragging me back home in a hurry. I noticed that she had a serious expression on her face when the man mentioned a demon but I paid it no mind as we arrived back home.

While my mom was cooking. I was in the living room when I heard a knock at the door, I opened the door and saw a man wearing strange clothes, but what I noticed was that his eyes were almost like mine.

(Muzan kibutsuji)
???: "Hello Yamato is your mother home"
Yamato: "How do you know my name?"
Before he could answer my mother called for me asking who was at the door.
Yamato: "There a man here looking for you?"
She told me to invite him into the kitchen so I escorted him and when we got there suddenly my mother stabbed him with a knife in his chest but he didn't look fased.
I was shocked by this and was wondering what was going on, who was this man, and why mother stabbed him when she saw him.

???: "It's been a long time Mikoto tsugikuni!!"
Mikoto: "How did you find us muzan kibutsuji?" said with venom in her voice.
Muzan: "What would it matter to you anyway since you're going to die!"
He turned his head towards me and so did my mother.
Mikoto: "You're not taking my son muzan I won't let you!!"
Muzan: "Judging by his expression you didn't tell him the truth, do you want to tell him or should I" with a smirk on his face.
Mikoto didn't say a word she was still holding the knife in her hands trying to keep him pinned but also to keep him separated from Yamato. She turned to me and said in a loud voice"YAMATO RUN!!" and instantly, she felt her body being pierced she looked to her front and saw muzan hand through her body.

My eyes widened in shock at what I just saw my whole body was paralyzed to the point that I couldn't move.
Muzan: "Foolish woman you tried to protect him but in the end, you failed" with a smug look on his face.
Mikoto quietly looked at muzan with a smirk on her face saying "You're the fool if you think you won!!"
Muzan had a confused look on his face and wondered what she was talking about.
Mikoto: "Did you think that I wasn't prepared for this day, I knew you would show up so I need to keep you talking to by some time!!" she then yelled "NOW!!" and suddenly some of the people from the village immediately appear and stabbed muzan in different parts of his body to keep him in place, one of the villagers grabbed me and made a run for it all while my mother was shouting" GET HIM AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE!!" she said while trying to keep muzan still who was angered by this attack by my mother.

I tried to go back and save her but I was held back by the villager, my mother looked at me with a smile one last time saying"live well my son" and suddenly the house exploded.

I watched the house engulfed in flames with my mother still inside, and at that moment I almost started to cry if not for one of the villagers grabbing by my shoulders and telling me something.

Male villager: "Listien there will be time for mourning, but now is not the time you need to run as far as possible until daybreak OK here take these she wanted you to have them," he said to me in a hurry.
He gave me a sword and the journal that belonged to my mother.
Yamato: "Why...why is this happening...who was that man...and why did mom..." but before I could finish the man stopped me by saying"It's because you're not a human," he said looking straight into my eyes.
I looked at him confused trying to figure out what did he mean when he said I wasn't human.
Yamato: "Wha...what do you mean I'm not human!?"
But before he was about to explain one of the men yelled out saying"HE COMING!!" they turned and saw that man approaching us, he then turned to me and told me to run so I ran as fast as I could all while hearing the screams of the villagers being killed to protect me.

I ran so far that I somehow ended up on a snowy mountain.

I soon began to feel my body was about to collapse from exhaustion, but I tried to keep moving and at that moment my body gave out and collapsed on the snow-covered ground, my vision started to darken but not before seeing the silhouette of a person coming towards me and in that moment I passed out.
