Chapter 2: Briefing

"Samuel what's going on? " John asks as he's unfamiliar with the person standing before him and Sam "oh John this is James Ironwood he's an Atlesian general" Sam said to John

"A new friend General Westergaard" Ironwood asked this got the Chief's attention Westergaard was Samuel's real last name and all spartan-II candidates were not supposed to say their real names since it would be a security breach by ONI's standards but John kept his composure and didn't act upon it for old times sake

"More like a brother, General Ironwood" Samuel replied "I see, well it's nice to meet you, my name is James Ironwood I am a general in the Atlesian military" Ironwood introduced himself as he puts out his hand so John could shake it

John accepts the jester and gives the non-augmented general a handshake, they let go and Ironwood looks at Samuel who asks "what brings you here James"

"I think you know Samuel" Ironwood replies Samuel nods and shows Ironwood to his office so they can talk in private Ironwood was sitting on a chair across from Samuel with the blond spartan sitting on a chair behind the desk and John standing near the doorway "so what does Atlas want this time" Samuel asked in a tired tone indicating that this wasn't the first time the blond spartan had to deal with Atlas and it's government "as usual they want you to give them your technology and give them command of 80% of all UNSC forces on remnant and in return, they'll give you the remaining 20%" Ironwood said "and for the 10th time that's a no" Samuel replied

"Samuel we've been friends since our academy days and we both know how stubborn the Atlesian government is you know that this is the lowest they'll go in giving you command of what remains of your forces-" before Ironwood could finish Samuel interrupted him "and if I don't agree to these terms I'll have the entire Atlesian military on my doorstep even though there are Grimm all over the uninhabited portions of the world and if they send in their entire military at me then they'll be defenseless"

"But let me tell you this James, I don't care about the bluffs your government has to offer if they're going to send their armies at me then fine we'll be ready" Samuel declared this declaration only concerns Ironwood even more "Samuel half of the Atlesian council are considering war against you and-"

"I don't care James" Samuel interrupted "tell those rich bastards that hold power in your government that I will never give them command of my forces or give them any of my technology given your kingdom's history I will not endanger the peace of the world by giving the corrupt government of Atlas any form of UNSC tech" Samuel finished

Ironwood sighs and looks at him as he saw the determination that the Blond spartan had "alright" Ironwood started "just don't say I didn't warn you" then Ironwood got up from his chair and walked out of the room gaining a glare from the master chief on the way out

"What was that about" John asked "James was just telling me what his government wants from me or else they will start a war against the UNSC" Samuel said "If I agree to their terms Atlas becomes even stronger as if they aren't already the strongest kingdom on Remnant"

This began to worry John a bit since if this 'Atlas' nation was the strongest on the planet then this would be a possible threat that the UNSC would have to face on Remnant "and you're aggravating them" John asked "if I give them any form of UNSC tech without going through this diplomatically then there's no telling on what Atlas would do, hell the first time I met they're forces was when they were burning down faunus villages and killing men women and children they were like the covenant and insurrectionist from our universe" Samuel stated

"But they must have the strongest military force on the planet if they're the strongest nation on the planet" John shot back as Samuel looks at him in the visor and states "they may be the strongest this world has to offer but compared to the UNSC they're like children John they're encryption codes are a joke Atlas's air forces are the airships you see outside with the dropships and their ground troops are cyclops sized mechs androids and infantry"
