Figures began appearing in the dark. Slowly their numbers increased one by one, all dressed in black.

Hunters, my Wolf growled. I felt my Wolf rise to the surface, my eyes shining bright in warning. If they stepped any closer, I would attack without a bit of hesitation.

There was one man, a strangely familiar man, standing in the middle of the Hunters, just a bit ahead of everybody else. I knew that he was the leader just from his posture. He stood proud and confident; fearless.

His medium length brown hair was combed and jelled back. His dark brown eyes were playful, if not a little smug, on his face. He had a light beard growing on his face. The Hunters hands were behind his back, his body covered in a full black suit. The only color on him was a blue tie and handkerchief that, oddly enough, looked to be the same color as Meredith's eyes.

He stopped, just a couple of feet away from us. The guard behind him were covered in full gear and army; their faces covered by a snow mask or bandana. They had weapons on them but they were not holding them, almost as though they were trying to show an ounce of respect by not pointing them towards us.

The lead Hunter inclined his head. "Alpha Crescent I suppose." He spoked, his voice casual.

Slowly I stood to my full height though my eyes remained bright. My Wolf had no intention of backing down in case of a surprise attack.

"That is I." I replied, my tone guarded.

The lead Hunter chuckled, shaking his head. "How rude of me, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ren Hunter." He took out his right hand behind his back to shake.

I tensed at the name. Not only did the Supernatural have leaders but so did the Hunters. The origin of the Hunters were six  families that called themselves The Head. The last name Hunter, was an ancient one. One that lived all the way to the beginning of everything. Their names were just as big as the name Dragon in the Supernatural world.

I didn't reply with words. Instead I glanced down at the hand warily. I didn't trust any Hunter out here however I remembered Zach's words playing in my mind; No one besides a couple of rogue Hunters assaulted us without permission from the head corporation. It meant that Ren had nothing to do with the attack, but that didn't mean I trusted him. Hunters were never to be trusted.

With much reluctance, I gripped Ren's hand shaking it in a formal manner.

"I hope you will forgive the Head for this. We had no idea of what these little ones were planning. If we had known, we would have stopped it immediately." Ren apologized, his voice sounding truly apologetic.

I nodded my head. "Hopefully there won't be a next time."

Ren nodded, "Hopefully-" He stopped, his eyes widening a fraction before quickly composing himself. "Meredith." He breathed her name.

There was a strong feeling behind her name; a feeling that had me wanting to put my arm possessive around her, to show she was mine.

Ren's eyes remained glued to Meredith, even the Hunters behind him were staring at her, all with different expressions.

I risked a glance behind me to see Emma looking beyond terrified, she looked as though she had seen a ghost. Vivian kept her face cool but her eyes were wide while Val continued to hiss uncontrollably.

Meredith continued to look straight ahead, as though she hadn't heard her name being called. I felt a bit smug at the thought of Meredith ignoring Ren. I had never asked Meredith if she had any previous relationships but it was always possible. She was an immortal after all.
