Hermiones pov

"Merlin, you look terrible" I laughed as I spoke to my bestfriend, he sat with tissues under his nose and his wife sat perched on the edge of the bed holding his hand tightly "I'm going to kill him" pansy muttered several times, Ginny and Neville had been and gone when pansy arrived "I don't know who he is anymore mione" his voice was quiet as he spoke, his hand clung round pansys as if she would disappear if he let go

"Neither do I..." I replied, gently sitting in the edge of his bed "Why is it that we can not have one single normal year? I thought after I killed Voldemort things would return to normal....the fame has changed him...I'm scared of what he will do next hermione" harry said, his other hand reaching for mine, I raised an eyebrow "He will calm down eventually harry", harry scoffed "I've heard rumours...I heard them during Christmas.."

"What rumours?" I questioned, harry took a deep breath as I looked between both him and pansy "What rumours Harry?" I asked again "he's been in touch with death eaters..." pansy whispered. My eyes widened "I doubt that very much" I replied, holding back a laugh "she's serious Hermione...he reached out to pansy dad before his trial". I looked between the two "and what is his plan?" I asked, "we don't know...but all I'm saying is we need to be careful"

I nodded, I said goodnight and left the couple to themselves. I gently closed the infirmary door behind me and my eyes met Dracos "How is he?" He asked. His eyes scanned my face and I could see the worry come over him "Mione? What's wrong?" He asked, grabbing my hand. I shook my head "Not here...I'll explain when we get back to the dorm"

Dracos POV

"I'll speak to my parents...they possibly have heard things...they may have changed their mindset but I'm sure if my father plays a good act he may find something out" I said, Hermiones nodded no "Not yet...we don't even know if it is true, for all we know Ron is just trying to get a reaction out of us" she said, I let out a sigh of defeat. Hermiones face was paler than normal and I could see her trying to piece together the pieces.

I gently took her hands in mine "Why don't we forgot about this for now...we can deal with it in the morning" I said, she nodded "what do you want to do?" She asked. I thought for a moment before getting up and going over to the bookshelf and grabbing The Book Thief from her section of the shelf. I walked back over to the sofa and sat down, I grabbed the blanket from behind the seat "Lay down" I said, she looked confused but she did. Her head gently lay on my lap and I wrapped her up in the warm blanket

"incendio" I said, pointing my wand at the fire place and watching it light. I opened the book and began to read to her. I could feel her relax and before I knew it I could hear the gentle snores coming from her. I smiled before placing the book down gently. I slowly picked her up and carried her to her room, placing her down onto the bed and pulling the duvet over her. Just as I began to walk out she gently spoke "don't go" she whispered, I turned around and she was sitting with the duvet up making space for me to sleep beside ber

"Please...I've gotten use to you sleeping beside me...it's comforting" she whispered, I smiled as I felt my cheeks begin to redden. I nodded at her and climbed in beside her, gently wrapping my arms round her as she lay her head on my chest. Merlin I had never been more in love

The next morning I woke to her moving around the room, "are you okay?" I asked her, she turned round quickly. She was holding a bandage to her arm "Hermione?" I questioned jumping out of her. She moved back "it's fine, I just scratched it last night" I raised an eyebrow, moving slowly over and lifting her hand from her arm. She had scratched her scar red raw "Hermione..." I whispered, her face was pale as she looked at me "I had a bad dream last night, I think I done it then.."

I slowly walked her to the bathroom, running cold water over her arm. She scrunched her nose up in pain but kept her arm under the tap, afterwords I applied some medicated moisturiser onto jt given to me by the infirmary staff when I done this to my own mark. "This will help the redness" I said as she nodded. She smiled slightly at me "thank you Draco.." she placed a delicate kiss on my cheek before walking out to get ready for the day.

Hermione pov

"Headmistress, what action do you believe needs to be taken when it comes to Ron?" I asked. Mcgonogal had arranged a meeting between myself, her and Draco "I'm not too sure Miss granger...his actions over the last few months have not been good but I personally feel it would be cruel to expel him 6 months before he is due to graduate" I nodded along as she spoke, my eyes darting over to Draco who looked to be biting his tongue

"I advice for now you both keep clear of him, this goes to any of your friends. We are going to keep monitoring him as well as having him serve several detentions to keep him away from the student population till he learns to control his aggression" mcgonogal said, after some more small talk we exited her office. My head and arm were killing me and the idea of finishing classes for the day made me want to cry "mione?" Draco questioned. I turned around and he looked concerned "I know this is alot.."he said

"Skip class with me" I said, he looked at me with shock "Sorry what?" He asked "Skip class with me, we can go to hogsmede" I said, grabbing his hand and leading him to the secret passage me and harry used to take "Is Hermione granger really skipping class? What has the world come too" Draco joked, I only shot him a look before opening the passage door. After a short journey I knocked on a door 3 times and it was opened by two house elves "Ahhhh miss granger" the elves said, I smiled and thanked them before leaving the small cottage and entering the village

"Merlin I wasn't aware my future wife was such a rebel" Draco said, placing an arm over my shoulder "now now, you're talking to the girl who has sneaked out of this school several times as well as controlled time" I said with a laugh. He nodded before we entered the small pub "Two butter beers please" I asked, reaching for my purse "Don't even think about it" Draco said, handing over some coins to the bar staff "I could of paid for that" I said, he laughed "And yet I did"

I only shook my head before we took a seat with our drinks, we sat in comfortable silence as we drank until I heard him begin to laugh "what is it?" I asked, he pointed to the foam moustache I had given myself. I wiped my mouth and he only laughed again, grabbing a napkin and cleaning it off "there you go" he said, his eyes stared into mine and I could feel the beat reach my cheeks "t-thank you" I said with a small smile.

My stomach filled with butterflies as he smiled at me and began to talk about some of the advanced potions he had been working on, I couldn't help but smile as he got excited over one that could make his broom 10X faster than it already was. I couldn't pin point what the warm feeling in my stomach was coming from...all I could focus on was him...
