His lungs were like baby blue baloons, and he was making sure he inflated them fully before ever letting the air out. He was in the Hospitals outside Area. He had been alpud to be by himself as the cancer cells were slowly depleating and he was beginning to recover. He could not stand long, mabye a few minutes but that was enough for him. The months spent in bed were hell compared to being this weak.
He let his trembling knees fall and he plopped down on a concrete bench. It was moist with morning dew but not too terribly uncomfortable. It had none of the little pebbles that sidewalks held and therefore was smooth to the touch. As he looked out among the flowers he saw you in the distance. He hadn't seen a visitor in about a month and to see you was a blessing, so much of one that it brought him to his feet once more.
