Truth Hurts Sometimes

   Eclipse's pov

"Are you feeling any better?" I gave Hikari a cup of water.

She took it and slowly drank it. "Yeah I am, is Nathan okay?" She asked me.

I didn't know where Nathan is but I can't tell her that I don't know what happened to him. I just hope that Zach finds him.

"He's okay. Just worry about yourself." I said. She wasn't convinced but nodded either way. Soon enough, I heard a door slam from downstairs. Is Zach back? "Stay here, I'll go and see who it is." I warned her. I walked downstairs to see Nathan trying to catch his breath. "Want some water?" I asked. Nathan tensed up and looked forward but relaxed once he saw it was just me. "No thanks, where's Hikari?" He asked. More like demanding. "She's upstairs and before you ask, yes she is okay." I folded my arms. "Okay thanks." Nathan walked past me but I put a hand out. "Where do you think you're going?" I raised an eyebrow. "To Hikari. Now move your hand." Nathan glared at me. I glared back at him. "You left her at school. Did you come back to shout at her?" I said, raising my voice a little. Nathan shifted his whole body to face me as he gave me a hard glare but sighed. "I know what I did, just let me fix it." I stood my ground but gave up and decided to give him a chance. "Fine, don't mess it up." I said as I moved my hand to fold them against my chest. He gave one last look and went upstairs.

"I need a break from all this drama." I mumbled as I rolled my eyes.

   Hikari's pov

I put the cup on the nightstand beside my bed. I heard mumbling downstairs. I wonder if Nathan's safe or not. I hope he's alright.

Someone knocked on my door. "It's me, Nathan. Can I come in?" He said. My eyes widened. It's him. He's back. I was really happy. Was I ready to see him? What if he is mad at me? Oh if he is, did I do something wrong? I quickly shook my head and cleared my throat.

"Come in." I said. He walked in and closed the door. We didn't look at each other. I was nervous. Why was I nervous? Is he making me nervous? He didn't sit beside me, I think he's mad at me. "No I'm not mad at you." He said. I forgot that he can hear my thoughts. "I won't read your thoughts if you don't want me to." I looked at him. He was already looking at me. "Uh it's okay." I stammered. Get yourself together Hikari!! "You can sit down if you'd like." I said. He didn't say anything. Soon, I felt the bed move. He sat down. Beside me. I'm gonna have to control my thoughts whenever I'm around him.

"Why? Are you nervous? Do I make you nervous?" He leaned close to me. My breath hitched.

"N-no. Uh are you okay? Why did you run away?" I asked. He moved away from me. Well done, Hikari. Way to ruin the mood. He didn't say anything. He didn't read my mind. I smiled a little but frowned after. "Why are you asking me that? I should be asking you if you're alright." He said. I could hear a little sadness and anger in his voice. "I am okay, thanks to you. Thank you for saving me again." I thanked him. "You could've get hurt if I didn't come sooner." He gritted his teeth. He's mad at himself..but why? He saved me. Does he...feel guilty?? "Nathan, I'm not hurt thanks to you. You saved me right on time." I said as I put my hand on his shoulder. He flinched at the contact and raised his head a little. I realized what I was doing and instantly pulled my hand away. "Sorry." I looked down.

"Let me see your arm." Nathan said. I looked at him, feeling confused but gave him my arm. He gently took my arm and inspect it carefully. "Don't let him touch you ever again." He growled, letting go of my arm. I laughed softly. "Yeah sure." I smiled. Knowing that he cared really makes my heart skip a beat. I stared at him. He wasn't looking at me. His eyes are closed as he was trying to calm down. Adorable. I saw his lips twitched and he smiled a little. Did he hear me? Oh crap, I hope he didn't hear what I thought earlier. His smile turned into a frown.
