I woke up, feeling the sun beams on my skin. I got up to go get breakfast, I poured a bowl of cereal and went to sit on the couch to eat it, but when I went into the living room, my heart dropped. I saw my dad and my grandma sitting on the couch talking "dad!?" I asked in shock as I dropped my bowl of cereal. "Marina! Look at the mess you've made!" My grandma said referring to the milk and lucky charms splattered all across the carpet. "Oh, sorry grandma!" I said as I went to go fetch a hand towel to clean it up, what is my dad doing here? Why is he here? The only reason he would be here is to go kill a sea monster!" I said to myself, I've never been to fond with my dad's passion, I never liked how he kills innocent creatures just for pleasure, and now that I might be falling for a merman...aughh this is a disaster! Ok Marina, just play it cool, play it cool. I went to get a glass of orange juice being careful I didn't spill anything this time. "So dad, why are you here?" I asked looking at him with a fake dorky smile on my face "Marina! I've missed you so much Bella!" He said as he hugged me. I hugged him back still fearing he was gonna do something bad "I'm here because I just wanted to get back into the old fishing! Ya know?" He said as he got up to go grab his fishing poles and spears "uh...okay!" I said back trying to sound as chill as possible trying not to be too suspicious "you wanna come?" He asked me "uhhh, actually I'll  stay here! You need this time to get out there near the nice turquoise water dad!" I said while pushing him out the door "alright then! Bye sweetheart!" He said to me "bye dad!" I said while slamming the door in his face. "Whew! That was a close one! I don't want him finding out I'm with Gill because if he does, I'll be a dead sea urchin!" I said to myself under my breath, I ran out the back door to find Gill, after all we did have a date...I MEAN A GET TOGETHER. I ran to he rocks where we agreed to meet. I waited there for a few minutes starting to get worried. "What if my dad caught him?" I thought nah, Marina c'mon you have to stop over thinking about if your dad's gonna catch him or not! Just keep him out of dad's sight! I said to myself, I then saw a periwinkle fin sticking out of the water coming towards me, its Gill! "Gill!" I said happily jumping off of the rock I was sitting on "Marina!" He said as he poked his head out of the water and swam over to me "Your dress is gorgeous!" He said, I was flattered and blushed alot "grazie!" I said trying to cool down the blushing but not show it too much. "Are you ok Marina? Your face is really red, are you sick?" He said resting the back of his hand on my cheek to feel how hot my blood pressure was, when he put his hand on
my cheek I blushed even harder "yep! Im fine! Probably just a little sun burn! Haha!" I said nervously "well, okay! As long as your alright!" He said "c'mon! Lets swim!" He said as he took my hand and pulled me into the water with him before I could even get a chance to get a breath. "Isn't this fun already?" Gill said, his voice sounded so clear underwater but all that came out of my mouth were bubbles. He then pulled me deeper into the water forgetting that I am unable to breathe under water. "Gill!" I said with bubbles escaping from my mouth, Gill's facial expression started to change from excited to worried in just a few seconds seeing that I was in distress. "Marina? HOLY FISHNETS MARINA I FORGOT YOU NEED AIR" he said as he quickly scooped me up and swam up to the surface. I was just about to pass out from lack of oxygen until I felt Gill gently place me on the wet grass, I took a big gasp for air catching my breath "Im so sorry Marina, I forgot you can't breathe under water" he said "you could've killed me!" I said out of anger now mad at him that he put my life at risk "But Marina-"I cut him off, "I'm going home!" I said as I stormed off still soaking wet. Oh no, what did I just do? I didn't mean to say that! What if Gill hates me now?
