Woooooo angst time involving the horse man >:D

This is Crystal Horrors' interpretation of what actually happened when Lucas left SS. Even though I do include players' powers, I thought it wouldn't make sense if he just... left :^

Sooooo angst :3

—————————————————————————————————————

[Lucas' POV, a long time ago]

...It's been getting worse. I don't have much longer left.

Sabre's been busy making sure Rainbow doesn't find out what actually happened with me. There's nothing we can do, and if he knew it would absolutely break his heart, so... even though I hate having to have Sabre lie to him for me, it's for the best.

I'm hidden in a secret room of the Rainbow House. Sabre set it up for me when I had to disappear. It's alright. I just... I wish there was some way to make this go away. We already tried Rainbow Stone, and somehow it didn't work like last time, so we have no way to cure... this.

I look down at the black-and-white, almost static-like blotches all over me. They're like fractures, and while not painful... I'm not going to beat them like last time. They're not little ones this time, either; they've grown. Expanded, like a crack in a glass pane. Now the static spots almost completely circle me.

I suddenly hear the door open, and I look up. Sabre shuts the door behind him as he walks in.

"Hey, there's the chicken man." I chuckle.

"Okay, good. You're still here." Sabre says as he makes his way over to me. "I... I got worried."

"Hey, I get it. I don't exactly have much left, so..." I reply as he sits down next to me on the bed.

Sabre is silent for a bit. Then, he sighs and looks down at the floor.

"...I wish there was some way we could fix this. Like we always do." Sabre says. "I just... I don't want you to go."

I hug Sabre, knowing he's just as torn up about this as I am.

"I don't want to go either, Sabre." I say. "I don't want to leave you, Rainbow, and all of this behind. But... there's just nothing we can do."

"I know..." Sabre mumbles. "I-I know..."

We let go, and we both just look at the floor. I don't know, we're both stressed and dreading what's eventually going to happen. I then break the silence.

"So, what'd you tell Rainbow?" I ask.

"I told him you moved away." Sabre says. "He believed it... surprisingly."

"Really?" I say.

"Yeah, he's uhm... he's acting a little mad about it though." Sabre says. "I think that he thinks you abandoned us, but I keep telling him you didn't."

"Well... better than him knowing what's actually going on." I say. It honestly hurts to hear that Rainbow thinks I abandoned him and Sabre... I'm sorry, buddy.

We suddenly hear Rainbow calling for Sabre outside. Sabre gets up and goes towards the door.

"I'll be back. I promise." Sabre says.

"I'll be waiting for you." I reply with a small smile.

Sabre smiles back, and just like that... he's gone. I'm alone in this room again. Nothing but the furniture and my thoughts... and the knowledge of what's coming.

...I just hope I can keep living for just a little bit longer.
