At the house she made her way upstairs and began packing her things, she wasn't sure where she was going, but Damon was going to be confused enough when he woke up, he didn't need to add a random woman in his room to his plate. For the time being, she pulled the bags into another room down the hall, before heading back downstairs, but she paused when she heard Damon and Stefan talking in the foyer.

"Tell me one thing," Damon asked, "why do you want to cure her?"

Stefan scoffed, "What kind of question is that?"

"A legitimate one," Damon crossed his arms as he challenged his brother, "you want to cure her because she's a vampire and she's not cut out to be? Or you can't love her if she is one?"

"I'll always love her. But she's not supposed to be this person. I don't want her to be," Stefan admitted sadly.

"Well, if I'm gonna ride this fairy tale to its conclusion, I want to be clear about one thing."

"What's that?"

"I'm fine with her either way, brother. So, if I do this, I'm doing it for you," Damon drank the last of his bourbon before putting the glass down and beginning to leave.

Stefan stopped him, "What about Emma?"

"Who?" Damon turned around and looked at his brother with his eyebrow raised.

"Uh," Stefan stumbled for a moment, "no one, don't worry about it."

Emma put her hand over her mouth to stop any noise from coming out as she slid down the wall that she had been using as support. Damon walked out of the room, barely missing Emma as he walked by.

Stefan leaned forward, putting his elbows on his knees and hiding his face in his hands, "Emma, I'm so sorry."

He had heard her coming down stairs and knew she was listening to everything, Stefan stood up and stepped over to where Emma was and put a supporting hand on her shoulder. Emma pushed it off and picked up her backpack and motorcycle helmet, she headed for the door.

"Elena killed Connor," Stefan said, trying to get her to stay.

"Why should I care?" Emma rolled her eyes.

Stefan shrugged, "Maybe you shouldn't, but I figured you might want to know that you don't have to watch your back as much anymore."

Emma walked out the door and hopped on her motorcycle, she headed towards the graveyard. Once there the slowly walked over to where her sister Katie and Alaric were buried and sat in-between the two graves, pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around her legs. She let her mind wander between memories of her family and memories of the Damon she knew.

A soft knock on the door roused Matt from his sleep, he walked down the hallway still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes when he opened his front door. His back immediately straightened when he saw who was standing in front of him.

"Emma?" His voice was full of concern, "Is everything okay?"

Emma hesitated, "I'm sorry, I know it's late and I shouldn't be bothering you but..."

"Shut up and get inside," Matt smirked as he pulled her arm, "I said if you needed something you could come to me."

Emma stepped inside and sat down on the couch in the living room, Matt went into the kitchen and got them both a cup of coffee before joining Emma in the living room.
