It's been nearly a week since the virus took affect and the younger members of the pack were cured.
The day after, Braeden had been released from the hospital and Derek and Bella brought her to the loft, to rest and recover at Bella's insistence.
Braeden left the day before, mostly recovered, but makes sure to take a lot of painkillers.
Bella protested a lot that Braeden needed more time to recover and fully heal, but Braeden insisted that she go, saying she had a job to finish.
Bella had half the mind to chain her friend up and lock her in the loft, but the mercenary assured her that she'd be fine and if she needed help, she would come to her, so Bella let her go.
It's currently the middle of the night and the couple were in the loft, sleeping.
However, Bella was asleep in the bed and Derek was asleep on the couch.
No, they didn't have a fight.
Derek had been wounded and it hadn't healed, but he didn't want Bella to know about it, so he was sleeping away from her, hoping to keep it hidden.
She knew that his eyes were no longer blue and his sense of smell wasn't as powerful as before, but she didn't know that he was slowly losing more and more of his werewolf abilities.
He was scared of her reaction to him possibly turning human and wanted to keep her in the dark, hoping he would figure out what was happening to him and if it was reversible, before she knew about it.
Unfortunately for him, that was thrown out the window, when Bella suddenly woke up and realized her boyfriend wasn't in bed with her before spotting him, fast asleep on the couch, which definitely confused her.
She got up from the bed and carefully approach him, hoping not to wake him up. (Her outfit)

She noticed that he's sleeping on his side, giving her a full view of a blood stain on his shirt, making her furrow her eyebrows.
She carefully pulled up the his tank top and to her surprise and horror, there was a bullet wound that didn't appear to be healing.
