He reminded me of an early morning
When the sun is peeking through the blinds
You're not sure which way is up
Your eyes refuse to wake
Sliding wrists into your sockets to rub them
Then turning over to smile and
Using your fingers to grasp whoever is next to you
Even if at first you cannot remember who he is
You know it is him and he is there
With a yawn and a stretch to stimulate your senses
Puffy eyes slowly opening to take in
Sleepy surroundings but mostly you want to
Wake up to him
