Chapter 2: Succesful plans?

The man walked away with anger and disappointment in his moves, Yanfei who decided to talk to Hu Tao about the whole chasm thingy was quite relieved that he had left.

"What would the legal adviser need from the funeral parlor? A coffin? We can give you the best price and best quality." Hu Tao smirked thinking that Yanfei wanted to buy one.

"Uhh, sorry to disappoint but I'm not here to make an affair or something. It is about the chasm."

"Huh, then it must be some dead ones in there lurking around." Hu Tao cheered herself up winking toward Yanfei.

Yanfei was surprisingly amazed by Hu Tao's great ability with keeping up with her business, never giving up. For most in liyue, it was considered annoying but for Yanfei it was amazing, and inspiring too.

"Well, it isn't really that. Let me give you a quick recap." Yanfei explained the entire thing to the energetic brown-haired funeral parlor.

As Yanfei explained Hu Tao was trying her best to understand everything, even though she fell behind in some parts she still understood most of it.

"So basically, there might be something lurking in the chasm and you need my help? This seems interesting." Hu Tao laughed pretending to understand it all.

Yanfei could easily see how Hu Tao didn't understand it all but didn't bother explaining more knowing that the young funeral parlor would understand it in the end, hopefully, possibly.

Yanfei ended their conversation by telling her to meet the half adeptus at the same spot, Madame ping had earlier told her about getting the approval from the Tianqiun. She said that she had already fixed that which was true so all they had to do was get inside the chasm right, investigate a little then leave.

THE NEXT DAY

Hu Tao and Yanfei met each other at the exact same spot as last time, both knowing what to do, well for Hu Tao kind of. They both went inside the chasm getting immediately questioned by the military that was present there.

"I understand that both of you young ladies are interested, how did you even find out about this? From what I know the newspapers haven't updated anything about this." The man from the millelith looked in confusion.

"I'd like to show my information and proof that we are substitutes for Miss Yelan who currently isn't present in Liyue, here is some proof, oh, and The Tianqiuns contract. You can always go double-check if you want." Yanfei with a random excited voice said.

"No need, welcome in oh, and be careful. You never know what can be in there." The man warned as the two went in.

"What a strange pair, I can see it working I guess, the business parlor might be a pain." The man thought will standing there, he wanted to know more but to have food on his table for his kids and wife he needed to work.

Yanfei and Hu tao shortly arrived near the place called the entrance, it was filled with broken spider webs and weird text made of blood, they couldn't figure out what it meant but they wrote it down in a notebook Yanfei brought with herself just in case.

Hu Tao took the sacrifice and jumped in (she made it seem dramatic), when she jumped she landed on a big rock with no scars or hint of damage, but Yanfei on the other hand was hesitating to go down.

"I'll catch you! And if not you can always pre-order a coffin." Hu Tao chuckled preparing to catch Yanfei.

Yanfei was still scared, when the guards looked at her she pretended to be busy by drawing the notes in her notebook. Meanwhile, Hu Tao was laugh-screaming you couldn't really tell.

"Director Tao it really isn't time for this."

"Call me Hu Tao and trust me!" Hu Tao tried convincing the scared half adeptus.

Yanfei gathered up all of her courage and jumped in, she took a step and jumped in just to shortly be caught Hu Tao, there was a one-second pause that felt like an eternity. But it also felt calming.

Yanfei wasn't actually scared she just wanted to see if Hu Tao was capable of anything at all, but she never told Hu Tao, instead while being in a princess carry position she just laughed leaving Hu Tao confused.

"Haha, what is happening? Did that one annoying bard die?" Hu Tao cheered while slowly putting Yanfei into place?

"No no! It's nothing just a random memory." She continued laughing trying her best to point to the direction they were to go next.

Hu Tao understood the assignment and dragged Yanfei with her, as the two walked deeper into the chasm they met some of the millelith and had to explain why they were there. They asked for more information but didn't get anything new.

Hu Tao then mentioned how she could interact with ghosts and how there could be some even deeper in, Yanfei agreed and they sprinted towards another hole. When they were there Hu Tao without thinking went towards a big mitachurl.

"Hu Tao! Watch out a mitachurl!" Yanfei warned throwing a big pyro catalyst attack towards it and with less than eight hits it was gone.

Hu Tao then laughed saying that she knew the mitachurl was there but that she could feel the aura of a spirit near, Yanfei was doubting Hu Tao until a small figure came, it was a short boy with a blue shirt and shorts.

"What do you want?" The little boy asked the two girls staring deep into his soul.

"Well we would like to ask you questions little one, is there a name for you?" Yanfei asked pretending that it was ordinary even though half of her brain was panicking.

"My name? It is Lee, ask what you want but you will have to repay me later." The boy looked away to the big rocks near them.

"Lee, heh we will start off with this question." Hu Tao chuckled.
