El was now happily eating her stack of Eggos. She looked at the waffles as if they would be stolen from her ((we are El x Eggos friendly here)) Billy sat across from her. He usually wasn't exactly the one to spend time with them. Just looking at the boy said it all. He seemed to hate little brats like those. He thought they were loud and obnoxious. Even a little stupid and slow. He would get very annoyed with the young teens. It wasn't exactly Billy's fault. He never had liked the idea of having a smaller sibling. And all of a sudden there comes Max. Even after everything had happened (demo-dogs, mind flayer, all that) Max and Billy didn't have the 'greatest' relationship. They were a little better though. At least now they would talk to each other a bit more without one yelling in the first ten minutes. That was... a good sign.

But now Billy was forced to sit with El (Steve's rule.) ((He needs his boyfriend and sister to get along guuuuys 👍)) He didn't really understand why Steve was so insistent on both to sit together but here he was. Across from a little girl who seemed to be in love with her Eggos. Billy was trying his best not to look but he couldn't help but find it so adorable how El would talk to herself (or the Eggos) while she ate. Or how she would look at the damn food. It was hilarious but cute. And Billy surprisingly loved it.

He was kind of getting the reason Steve hanged out so much with the little dipshits.

Now Steve, Steve was in the kitchen. Happily making pancakes for Billy and himself. Again. Because pancakes are 👌. Billy had insisted, possibly pleading Steve for him to let the other help. But Steve only shook his head 'no'. Part of him wanted to treat Billy.

Y'know, he was the guest after all.

Billy still wanted to help Steve, but Steve just wouldn't let him. "How many?" Steve yelled from the kitchen. "Oh! uhm, just... three maybe?" Billy was a bit startled to be pulled from his thoughts so abruptly.

But that's when the thought came.

earlier when they were on the couch... Billy felt it. He felt like he should've done the move.... they were so close. And even if the air between them was silent, Billy just... sensed it. He sensed that they both wanted it. To come closer. Kiss each other. Billy's face flushed a deep red at the thought of kissing Steve.

Kissing Steve Harrington.

It all dazed him but also made him eager at the thought. Like a little high school girl all excited over their first 'crush'.

"Here you go" Steve handed Billy his plate before settling down with his own. El had finished a while ago. Now she was in her room with her door closed because Steve didn't really force that 3-inch open door thing. He felt she was fine as long as she didn't hurt herself. So now Steve was the one sitting across from Billy.

and...

there was quite some tension between them.

It was natural. they were this close🤏 to literally kissing. It was obvious. It was an obvious thing to do. There was an obvious shared emotion between them. The way Steve had looked at Billy... If only that brat hadn't interrupted them. Billy couldn't help but be a little annoyed. He didn't say anything about it. God forbid if Steve heard him saying anything bad about Eleven. Steve could bear it when the party was actually being annoying. But when El was only being the sweet teen she was... seriously, God forbid Steve would ever hear Billy calling his sister names-

"Are we just... not... gonna talk about it?" He suddenly cut through the tension. It startled Billy slightly again to be pulled so abruptly from his thoughts by Steve. Billy raised his eyebrow questioningly at Steve "what're you talking about?" He asked. Steve sighed and shook his head. "Uhm... earlier... I...." Steve started to fumble slightly with his fork, poking around at the pancakes. "...earlier?" Billy bit his lip nervously. Steve nodded "earlier... Did... Did you perhaps feel anything?" Steve's voice was quiet... maybe even considered careful. Billy coughed, choking slightly on his spit (guys that happens to me so many times, I'm fine, breathing fine and everything, and all of a sudden, I start choking with my own spit... like why-)

"What do you mean... feel?" Billy lowered his voice. "When... you know... We just... looked at each other" Steve mumbled. His eyes were now fixated on his pancakes. Billy stayed silent. Because Billy had felt it. He had. He definitely had. Now... was Steve just teasing him or was he being serious? Steve slowly looked up to meet Billy's eyes, but Billy kept his down.

Slowly Billy lifted his head to match Steve's eyes. And again... there it was. The same feeling that engulfed their hearts.

Slowly... Steve started to lean forward over the table. His arms supporting him. Billy could feel his heart racing now that he copied his actions and started to lean as well.

Slowly.

Slowly.

Just like that, they were inches away from each other. Billy just wanted to do it. He wanted to throw himself onto Steve and kiss him, mess up his so neat hair. make him feel how he felt. Steve wanted to take away that space in between them. He wanted to feel himself being engulfed by Billy's figure again. His comforting touch. He wanted to feel Billy's hands through his hair again. "That" Steve whispered before, with one final breath, he leaned in.

Closing the small gap in between the two boys.
