20. God, Who Art Thou?
(2/20/09)

"God," quoth I, "that Omnipotent Specter who reigns
Above, who art Thou?"—Only silence; nothing more—
"Spirit, Lord Almighty, I implore Thee for Thy
Resplendent enlightenment from Thy sainted door:
Who art Thou?"—Again, all sang not but eternal
Quiet, provoking myself to better explore
And express what my curiosity dares me
To say: "If Thou Thyself still lives forevermore,
I beseech Thee: make Thy divine presence perceived
Unto me, Thine expectant disciple."—Then, four
Gusts divine blew past me.—"Thus, I implore," quoth I,
"Who art Thou?"

Suddenly, the heavens tore open,
Revealing Him, the Omniscient whose blinding light
Instills untainted awe, who spake in words before
Unheeded: "Forsooth! I am He who reigns o'er all
Of Heaven, thy master great, but I am much more:
I am He who lives within the human spirit;
I am He whose soul unto mankind did outpour
The woes of horrid strife, as well as the blessings
Of compassion; I am the dread of Hell's uproar
To some an the all-knowing King of eternal
Salvation to others; I am the Lord before
Creation; I am everything and anything
To the faithful, whilst seemingly gibberish lore
To atheists; I am, thus, who I am."

Then He,
The Omnipotence departed off just before
Mine eyes perceive His heavenly zephyrs, leaving
Me in deepest thought; and I, neither perplexed nor
Enlightened, inwardly reflected, "Maybe Thou,
(Quoth I) to me alone, as I my soul explore,
Art the selfish, universal yet everlasting
Quest to understand myself, the inner soul's core
That conceived the primeval curiosity
To perceive beyond what the ordinary bore,
Creating a literal heaven in our hell."

(To be continued...)

A/N: In other words, I believe that "God" is the Father, the Son and he Holy Ghost, and the best way to know who He really is lies in ourselves. Put simply, to understand God, we must look to ourselves. Is it blasphemy? I hope not. I know I'm running the risk of offending a few people, but I don't mean to do that. It's just my opinion, folks.
