"Meredith, honey. You have to get ready." Carolyn tried

"Gimme a min." Meredith whispered as they had finished their brunch but she was still laying down on the couch outside

"Do you want me to help you?" Derek asked and placed his hand on his wife's thigh but she flinched and pulled away

"I can do it myself!" She snapped

"Mer.." Derek sighed. "I just wanna help you" He looked really hurt

"I know that" She whimpered

Derek got up and went to get her beanie, shoes and jacket, placing it down next to his wife. "Just tell me if you want me to help you out"

Meredith was stubborn as always and pulled off her scarf, changing it for the beanie which she pulled on with shaking hands. She then slipped her feet in her shoes and struggled to put on her jacket, looking completely exhausted

"D-Der?" She breathed heavily

"Of course" He nodded and helped her with her left arm and closed the jacket as she started shivering

"Thanks" She muttered and leaned into her husband's touch, he immediately felt her body droop in his strong arms and kissed her head

"Let's go, we'll come with you if that's okay" Christopher smiled

"Don't need to stay" Meredith whispered as she was completely worn out

"We want to stay, honey. We can keep you company" Christopher kissed Meredith's head as Derek lifted her up and carried her to the car and placed her down in the seat

...

"Mer, what's wrong?" Derek asked as his wife was laying down in the bed, hooked up to her chemo, when she started crying. Their parents were getting coffee. Derek was concerned. He had no idea why she was crying and he tried to get her to talk but she just kept sobbing. "Mer, please. You're worrying me"

"H-Hurts" She cried harder

"What hurts, baby? Please tell me." Derek begged

"H-Head-" Meredith whimpered as he held her

"I'm sorry. I'll inject some morphine. It will be so much better" He said and injected some morphine

"I'm tired" Meredith muttered in his arms

"I know, you should go to bed soon. Mom and dad are moving in tomorrow, I was thinking we could order something to celebrate in the evening"

"Maybe lobster rolls or something like that. Mom likes those things" Meredith replies in Derek's arms as her body relaxed and she yawned

"Great idea. Now go to bed, I'll wake you up right before they'll be here" Derek kissed her head

...

The next day they were moving all Carolyn and Chrisyopher's stuff into the house. Mark and Addison had come over to help as well.

"Thanks. This will be it" Carolyn smiled as she put the last blanket down

"Do you like it, mom?" Mark asked her

"I love it. This will make things so much easier" Carolyn nodded her head

"Let's go to the living room" Derek immediately said and walked out. His wife was laying on the couch as she wanted to be with them but obviously was unable to help out

The others followed to the living room where Meredith was curled up underneath a blanket, pain radiating on her exhausted face.

They all took a seat, Derek holding his wife in his arms and they started talking.

I know it's awfully short but I wanted to give you guys something. Last week I had to say goodbye to two old friends in less than 24hours so them and their families have been in my thoughts. I'll do my best to start writing soon again.
