All Ardalings congregated in the field for the party, filling the air with squeals and chuffs of supper enthusiasm. Nalie nuzzled Faeriel before joining the herd of deers playing a game of chase with some of the goats and pigs. The adults gamboled with the children, never too old for fun, everyone's tails wagging as they frolicked.

Faeriel hugged Legolas. A warm glow soared in her chest.

"This is the most gladsome party that ever I attended," Legolas uttered to a bustling Rada. "How can I assist?"

All with opposable thumbs bore the final platters and baskets outside into the evening light. Many large trays were laid in a long line upon the grass and several were set upon a table surrounded by comfortable, pillow draped seats. The Ardalings quickly finished their game, and all but the most rambunctious younglings lined up around platters to feast.

"What a splendid banquet!" declared Faelas. His heart felt extraordinarily light, for he could sense the merry mood of every Ardaling present.

He lifted his gaze to the sky above the meadow. Swirling, feathery clouds branched out like lustrous ferns across the rosy vault. The sun had almost set, transforming patches of grass into pools of gold and the treetops to tufts of amber.

The table for the elf, the fae and the Istari stood in the center of a motley assortment of seats. Gandalf seated himself in an old armchair, Radagast perched on a stool, his hedgehog friend Sebastian seated on his lap. Faelas found a misshapen but comfortable little stump with space for Luna to perch.
