13. The Karate Kid

Eleven cut was bandaged and now she was trying to find Dustin after a poor signaled message through the walkie.

Lucas opened a can of coke causing alot of unnnessary noise.

"Quiet." max whispered

"Oh, sorry" Lucas whispered back. he took a huge gulp.

"how do you even drink that?" mike asks

"because it's delicious."

"What!" they all yell quietly back at him

"It's like carpenter's the thing. the original is a classic, no question about it. but the remake..." he takes another sip. "Sweeter, bolder, better"

"you're insane" Mike argues

"So you prefer the original Thing?"

"What? no, im not talking about the thing, im talking about the new coke"

"it's the same concept, dude."

"uh actually it's not the same concept.

"it is the same concept"

"no its not!"

"Yes it is!"

"Hey!" eleven yells at both of them taking off her blindfold.

"Sorry" mike and lucas apologizes

"Did you find him?" Syd asks

"i think he was at the cinema." el stumbles

"The movies?" Jonathan says. El shrugs her shouders

"Ok let's go" nancy said standing up. Lucas runs off leacing the group standing there confused. a few minutes later lucas comes back with a trolley full of fireworks

"ok. Now, let's go" he says walking towards the door. the rest of the group is to teird to argue again so they just follow him.

"the movies? dustin's so freaked out about the gate he decides to go watch a movie? yeah makes total sense." lucas says

"You're positive he said gate and not great?" max asks mike

"Yeah like oh this movie im watching is great" Will impersonates dustin

"it sounded like gate." el said

"Which would explain how the mind flayer's still alive." mike pointed out

"yeah we just have to shut it again." nancy said

"so then the monster dies." sydney said

"but if not, we always have Lucas's fireworks." max said with a fake smile.

"keep mocking my plan, max. Keep mocking it." lucas defends himself. "i wanna hear you say it again, because you keep doubting me. you keep doubting me."

"Ridiculous"

"will? we're gonna prove 'em wrong right?"

"Sure" will said uncertainly

They pulled up to the mall which was more or less abandoned, there was no sign of life or any alternate dimension activity.

"are you sure anyone is here?" nancy asked

"worth a look." sydney shrugged

they all walked up to the front door. they peer in. They men dressed in all black and their hair slicked back snook around the coner holding guns.
