Author's POV

Tim and Scarlett helped Liz and Y/N into the car. Tim was visibly worried about his wife and his sister-in-law. Tim drove, Scarlett sat next to him and Y/N and Liz sat in the back. You saw Y/N struggle with the pain and Liz was silently crying.

The ride to the hospital was painfully quiet. Tim was thinking about what would happen if something was wrong with Y/N. Scarlett was overthinking her relationship with Colin. But also about Rose and her father. He was getting more difficult about her new relationship and the custody. Y/N was overthinking everything about her family. She had four kids at home now and wasn't sure if she was ready to get back to work again. Another option was getting a nanny to help her with all the kids. Elizabeth was worrying about her pregnancy because the chance she miscarried was really big. She didn't understand why Robbie wasn't answering any of the calls.

Y/N's POV

We arrived at the hospital and Liz was getting more anxious every minute. I reach for her hand and she immediately takes it. She starts to play with my rings to distract herself. We walk into the hospital's emergency room and get Liz and I admitted. There only is one problem, Liz is freaking out and she needs me.

Lizzie's POV

Once we got admitted they tried to separate   Y/N and I. I couldn't do that and I didn't wanna do that. I know Scar is here too, but I just need my little sister. "Please, let Y/N stay," I whisper as they try to wheel her away. I don't believe anyone heard me though. Scar did step closer to take my hand, she probably noticed I was getting anxious. "Please make sure Y/N stays her Scar, I'm begging you," I cry to her. "I wish I could do that but she needs to have a surgery. She has a hernia which is causing her back to hurt like that. It needs to get out as soon as possible. I'm so sorry Liz, you have to do this with Tim and I," she answered really honest.

It took another 10 minutes before someone came to check on me. Scar got into my bed, it made me feel really safe again. I started to doze off when someone started talking. Scarlett immediately listened and I had to completely wake up again. "Are you okay with that?" Is the first thing I really hear the doctor say. "I'm so sorry, but could you repeat it," I say a little embarrassed.

She carefully repeated her story and I saw Scarlett nodded to confirm she understood everything. All I understood was that it was an incomplete miscarriage. "I want doctor Montgomery here," I say to the nurse. She gives me a confused look. "It's her own gynaecologist," Scarlett said to clear things up. "Oh okay, I could always call and see if she's available," the nurse suggests. "That would be amazing," I whispered back.

She left and it seemed like she wouldn't come back anytime soon. "I'm gonna get some coffee for Tim and I. Can I get something for you too?" Scar asked as she got out of my bed. "No thanks," I whisper. I just didn't want any food or drinks. I just failed to protect my baby and now everyone seems to be leaving.

"Liz, keep breathing please. I'm not gonna leave your side until we know more about Y/N. You are safe, no matter what," Tim said as he placed his hand on my hands. I didn't notice I was ruining my nails and barely breathing out of stress.

I dozed off again, I heard some vague noises that sounded like conversations but I didn't listen. "Liz, wake up please," I hear Scarlett say while she's shaking me. "I have talked to your own gynaecologist and she's on the way here. She was free today but she didn't mind coming in for you," the nurse from earlier told us.

Half an hour later we got an update about Y/N. The surgery went well and she was in recovery now. It took another thirty minutes for doctor Montgomery to arrive. "Good afternoon Elizabeth. What can I do for you?" She asked with her normal kind voice.

I was too anxious to talk right now so Scarlett started telling the story. Tim already left to be with Y/N. I wanted to see her too but I couldn't, not before doctor Montgomery completely checked me out.

After the exam doctor Montgomery starts explaining the next few steps. "We're gonna remove all the leftover tissue in an two hours. You can get an epidural or go under anaesthesia. It's gonna take thirty minutes maximum."

I had to process it all. I was completely gonna lose my baby in two hours. I didn't know what I wanted, I just wanted my little sister. "Can I think about it for a while. I wanna see if Y/N is awake already. I just need my little sister," I whisper to them. "You have half an hour. If you stay in either this room or in Y/N's I'll find you," she said and she left.

"Scar, could you please take me to Y/N. I need to see her, please," I whisper to Scar. "Sure, but I'm gonna bring you there in a wheelchair, no discussion," she said with a stern voice. I nod in agreement because I didn't really wanna walk there.

"Hey Liz, good to see you here," Tim said as soon as we walked in. Y/N wasn't awake yet so I prayed she would wake up soon. Tim, Scar and I sat there and talked a bit when Y/N started to gain consciousness again. "Hey you're awake," I whisper when I take her hand.

She doesn't answer at first but she did squeeze my hand as a hey. She tried to move a bit but she immediately stopped. The twitching of her face said enough to know it hurt her. "Can I talk to you for a few minutes please Y/N. I need your help," I whisper. "We'll be right outside," Tim said as he placed his hand on my shoulder. I nodded in agreement. Both Tim and Scar left the room.

"What's wrong?" Y/N asked. I could hear she was using a lot of energy. "Well, I had an incomplete miscarriage. Now they have to remove the leftover tissue from my uterus. I also have to chose if I want an epidural or anaesthesia," I end my story. "I would pick epidural. Anaesthesia suck," she answers while she holds my hand tight.

I placed my head on her bed and started crying, it was so overwhelming. Y/N started to rub my head to calm me down when doctor Montgomery walked in. "It's time Elizabeth. I'm gonna take you back to your own room and then take you up. You two will be in the same room afterwards by the way," she said. That really calmed me down.
