Clank! clank!! clank!!!
That was all that's heard in the large dining room. There's a comfortable silence while the family dine...well not for everyone though.

Mila could feel the intense gaze someone was sending her way but the last thing she wants to do is look up only for him to see the effect he has on her.

Everybody is present in the dining room except for the old Male lamidos (Abba, Abii and Abu) And those out of the country.

"Kamila is staying over for the night right?" Mila heard  Maami, Manal's mom said. She quickly looked up, coming back from her own little world thinking about God knows what, she really didn't know why she was distracted plus she couldn't eat her food, just kept playing with the utensils.

"Yes" Manal said excitedly. She has been begging Mila to come spend the night with them but she always refuses and now that she's staying even if it's for the wedding preparations, she's still happy.

Mila smiled at them without saying a word, deep down she doesn't want to stay anymore, not with him in the house. She's trying her best to avoid him and staying under the same roof for hours is not a good idea, she sure chose a wrong day to spend the night with them, she wish she could decline but since Maami has already spoken, changing her mind from staying would be inappropriate.

There was a little chit chat here and there before the dinner finally ended and all others left while Maami sauntered to her room to retire for the night.

Tee is going to kamila's house to spend the night with Eesha. Khalil is probably in his room playing some game, the guy is obsessed with video games.

Manal, kamila, Adda zee and Adda Nims are all cramped up in Manal's room making decisions on the lafayya they will put on the daurin aure day, the conversation has been going on for years and they still haven't come to a conclusion.

"I think the blue should do" Manal said. "What do you think Mila?" Adda Nims asked. "Since you guys are putting on black and gold, why don't we put red since nobody among us is dark skinned..I think a brown skin will do with red right?" she said. Staying with Adda Khadyy has finally paid off.

"I think that's a good idea, but what about our friends? We need a colour that will look good on brown skinned, fair skinned and dark skinned so it won't look awkward on some and nice on some. The colour at the same time should go with what the brides are wearing" Adda Zee said.

"We can go with white" Manal suggested. "Yeah! I think that will do" Adda Nims agreed. "All this is happening because Adda Khadyy isn't around" Manal grumbled. "Adda Khadyy said nobody should disturb her life during her vacay!" Adda Zee said and they all laughed.

Adda Khadyy can be a drama queen when she wants to be. "She knew we can't do without her, she's the fashion designer of the family" Manal said. "We'll call her tomorrow to confirm if the colours are okay" Mila said. "Yeah" Adda Zee agreed.

"Now the kamu," Manal started.
"Lemme go get coffee my brain is not functioning well" Mila said. They all chuckled muttering an 'okay' before she moved out of the room to go make her coffee in the kitchen downstairs.

Mila brought out the coffee powder and mug starting to prepare her coffee when she felt a presence behind her. 'Please let it not be him' she prayed silently.

"Hey" a voice said behind her. It's him she could recognize this voice anywhere, that deep angelic voice....yes!! It's him.

"Hi" she replied, suprisingly calm.
There was a look of surprise in his face for a second before he masked it away, he couldn't believe she's being calm, she's angry at him and as far as he knows her, she sure is not going to be easy on him. So he got prepared for her rants, now that she's being calm it kinda scares the shit out of him.

Kamila was surprised at herself, for all this while that's not how she imagined their first meeting to be, she wants to rant and hurl abuses on him but here she is being nice and nervous.

"Coffee?" she asked, okay!!! something is really wrong with her, she thought. "Yeah" he replied. She knew he'll never say no, he always says she makes the best coffee ever.

Silence enveloped them, everybody in his own little world till the coffee machine made a ding sound.
She handed him the black coffee while she adds milk and sugar to hers. 'Some things never change' he thought with a ghost smile.

"So, how have you been?" he asked trying to start a conversation. "I'm alive" she replied. "Sure, I can see that" he chuckled. "Good!" she replied tapping her slender fingers on the cup, something she does whenever she's nervous.

Mila? Nervous???...wow!!!
"What?" she snapped when she realized that he was looking at her wrist. "Where's the bracelet?" he asked, not accusingly though. "I lost it" she replied praying earnestly that he doesn't realize she's lying.
He chuckled and she looked up.

"You are a bad liar Mila" he said, and she never hated the fact that he know her so well more than that moment. He knew she was not telling the truth immediately she looked away and stammered while talking.

"So why are you back?" she asked trying to move the conversation away from her. "Daada wants me to, for the wedding and all" he replied.  She nodded her head sipping her coffee.
"When are you going back then?" she asked again. "Do you want me to?" he asked. She gave him the blank look she always give when she's in no mood to joke around.

"Are you?" She asked again. "Don't think so, Abba doesn't want me to"
"So you are back for good?"
"You can say that"
"Okay" she shrugged.
There was silence again, not because they don't have what to say.. heck!! There's so much to talk about, but is this the right time?

"Mila...." he started and she shuddered, the way the name rolls down his tongue...Ya Allah!!! She waited for him to start talking again.
"Can we talk?"
"About?"
"You know what I mean Mila"
"Oh really?! Do I?" she asked anger rushing through each and every vein of hers. "You are making it harder Mila, please" he pleaded. "Seriously?? I'm making it harder? Great!!" She muttered. Apart from anger, there's pain and tears has now clouded her eyes.

"Mia... please.." he started.
"Don't you dare..." she said in a low voice, but there is a huge warning in it. "Don't call me that....ever again" she added.  She's on the verge of breaking down, she needs to leave that place as soon as possible, breaking down in front of him is the last thing she wants to do at the moment.

"Don't cry" He pleades, he saw the tears in her eyes and it hurts to know that he's the reason behind it. Without saying another word, she turned away and move out of the kitchen.

~

"What took you so long?" Adda Zee asked as Kamila came into the room.
She didn't reply while she drags out her suitcase trying to bring out her pajamas.

"Whoaa! What's wrong Mila? Why are there tears in your eyes?" Adda Nims asked. "I'm fine" Mila replied.  "No you are not Kamila, what's wrong?" Manal asked this time around.

"I said I'm fine, now mind your fucking business and leave me alone!" she snapped and they all looked at her mouth agape.
She quickly changed into her pajamas before jumping into the bed to let the tears that have been hanging all out.......
