I push off the wall of the school, not having left the grounds yet, and start walking down the sidewalk, when the Parker kid runs over to me.

"Hey! Victoria!" He grins as he catches up with me.
"Thanks for standing up for me last week."

"No problem, Parker," I nod, sticking my hands into my pockets, my voice a bit raspy as I'm still kinda recovering.

"Oh, you can just call me Peter," the boy tells me. I nod again.
"You um..you busy this Friday? Me and my friends are gonna go grab some pizza after school then go to the park."

"I'm not busy."

"Cool! See you Friday, then?"
