It seemed that was no longer possible as Giuseppe was not only harming the boy physically but also mentally.

Giuseppe Salvatore was about to discover why you did not cross those who the Mikaelson family claimed.

Damon stared at his friend in disbelief, "They want the necklace so badly that they are willing to hurt me for it?" Alaric scrubbed his hand down his face as he watched Damon process the information he had just been given.

"It won't happen Damon. We just need to figure out what's up with the pendant before they can enact their stupid plan."

Damon moved his eyes down to the bar top in front of him as he thought over the conversations he had just had with Elijah and Katherine.

They both had at least known something about the pendant and where it had come from. Damon could not help but admit that his interest was piqued with Elijah.

"I might have found out some information about it." Damon kept his voice low as his eyes darted around the bar to check for any familiar faces that could be listening in. Alaric's jaw clenched as his eyes met Damon's, "Why didn't you say anything? We can settle this whole matter with the gang right now. C'mon."

As he moved to get up Damon shook his head softly at his friends' words, a look of betrayal and anger settling in his eyes.

"No. They want to try and attack me for a freaking pendant, let them. As far as I'm concerned, I'm done with them and if they make a move against me they will regret it." Damon's words burned through the air with an anger that Alaric had never heard from him before.

A shiver of fear ran down his spine at Damon's words, as he remembered the vampire he had originally come looking for. The vampire who made the most dangerous killers in the world look like small children.

That vampire now sat in Damon's place at the bar as his blue eyes seemed to come alive and the room around him darkened with his fury. "Damon what are you planning to do exactly?" Alaric watched Damon carefully as the vampire seemed to carefully consider his answer.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the endless silence was broken with four confidently spoken words. "Whatever I have to." Damon downed his last glass of bourbon before heading for the door without a backwards glance.

If his brother wanted to choose Elena over him, he was welcome to. Damon would not let this betrayal stand though; the streets would run red with the blood of those who went against him.

Alaric sat frozen at the bar as he stared at Damon's retreating figure. Why did it feel like this was just the beginning of a long battle to come?

Time passed slowly by as people went about their individual lives with their individual problems. None of them knew the danger that lay around them as Klaus Mikaelson walked down the street of their small town.

Having just arrived that morning Klaus was eager to get the ritual done and find his little blackbird.

After having waited so long for the both of them, he was determined to get them within his grasp within the week. The only issue that lay before him was his noble older brother Elijah who had apparently decided to team up with Klaus's enemies against him.

While he could not blame his brother for being angry, Klaus could not let his brother continue to walk around while his blackbird was here.

No something had to be done about Elijah before Klaus made contact with Damon. Thankfully, he still had Elijah's dagger and white oak ash; with a little compulsion towards the doppelgangers mother, Isobel, he would be able to have his brother out of the way very soon.

While he waited for that plan to come to fruition, he had a little snooping to do on the doppelgänger and her allies.

It was time to discover just what exactly they had planned; and if he just so happened to catch a glimpse of his blackbird while he did so well, you would hear no complaints from him.

Elijah spoke softly to Jonas as they poured over the list of where the witch house could be. Time was of the essence; Elijah had felt a change in the air recently and could only assume that Niklaus's arrival was just over the horizon. If that was not enough, Elijah was also having his contacts investigate Damon Salvatore's past to discover which of his siblings had claimed the boy.

The only connection they had found to the Mikaelson family thus far, was when Damon had briefly been in the same city as Kol in 1886. From what his witches had found the two had not even made contact before Niklaus had tracked Kol down.

This led Elijah to believe that Niklaus had found Damon whilst he was still human. The only problem he was having with that reasoning was why Niklaus had taken such an interest in him in the first place? What was so special about this one Salvatore boy and not the other one?

Pacing in the living room of the boarding house, Stefan was indecisive as he thought about the plan that had been presented earlier.

It was one thing to discover the origin of the pendant with Damon, it was another to steal the pendant and hurt him to find answers. Stefan may not like Damon but, they were still brothers even when Damon was impossible.

After all, none of this would be happening if Damon had just given the necklace to Bonnie. No instead he decided to insult her ability to find answers and run away like a freaking child.

"-fan! Stefan!" Elena shook him out of the stupor he had worked himself into, her face filled with concern. "Are you alright?" Stefan forced a smile onto his face as he stared at his beloved girlfriend.

He may not want to hurt Damon but, he would do anything to protect Elena even if that meant going against his brother. "Just fine. Did Bonnie find him?" Elena motioned for him to follow her out the door, "Yeah, he just left Alaric at the grill. Bonnie wants us to meet up so we can get the pendant from him."

Swallowing his small feeling of guilt, Stefan followed her out the door towards where Damon was. "Perfect, but he will be pissed that we attacked him after this. So, what was our plan to avoid him retaliating?" Elena held up two small syringes to present to Stefan.

"After Bonnie causes the aneurism so we can get the pendant from him. We'll inject him with some vervain and keep him in the cellar of the Boarding house until he decides to be a bit more cooperative. That is if you're still alright with this?"

"Why wouldn't I be okay with it? Damon was given a chance to cooperate, and he decided not to. He's getting what's coming to him." Elena grabbed Stefan's arm, pulling him to a stop right as they were about to hit the grill.

"I just want to make sure you're not getting cold feet. No matter what Damon does he's still your brother."

Stefan laced his fingers through Elena's pulling her close to him and placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

As he pulled away, he gazed lovingly into her eyes before speaking softly. "I love you and how concerned you are but, Damon made his choice. We're simply making ours and doing what we need to keep you safe. You're my priority right now not him besides if he's in the cellar of the Boarding house Klaus can't find him and that will be one less thing we have to worry about."

Out of the corner of his eye Stefan saw Damon having just got off the phone walking towards his car. Bonnie was walking behind him slowly to reach him without drawing attention to herself.

"We are only going to get one chance at this so, we need to get it right." Stefan breathed softly to Elena as they started heading in Damon's direction.

"Damon!" Stefan raised his hand to get his brother's attention as they got closer. Damon's head shot up to stare at him and Elena; his eyes narrowing suspiciously at the approaching pair.
