"Eh, if Seb ends up sleeping on the couch, maybe DD will let you bunk with her?" Ivy smirked and flicked on her indicator, quickly taking a right turn. The butterflies in your stomach stretched their wings, taking flight. Maybe you had an itty bitty crush on your friend's roommate, and maybe perhaps Ivy knew all too well and was possibly teasing you, and by the grin you were still getting from Seb maybe you were about to shank somebody.

The rest of the car drove rode out in silence. Mostly. Seb started playing some obnoxious mobile game halfway through. You were suddenly hurdled back in time to last week, sitting in a sterile waiting room as some four year old switched from running around and yelling at the top of their lungs to raging at flappy bird. That was not a fun time.

The apartment was empty when you got there. As soon as you passed into the threshold, Seb started to the air mattress the was shoved in the back of the closet, choosing to set up in Ivy's room rather than sleep on the couch. Fine by you, just meant you didn't have to share your sleeping space.

"I know it doesn't look like it, but I'd betcha dollars to donuts that DD's holed up in her room, so try to keep the noise level down unless you wanna keep your soul," Seb ignored her. You just nodded, already familiar with this rule as you set about making the couch comfortable to sleep on.

A few pillows here, a nice thick duvet there and you found yourself snuggling down under the warm covers. It wasn't like your bed at home, you though and realised to your growing horror that you didn't lock your bedroom door as you left, but it was comfortable enough.

You slipped into a deep sleep. Various dreams plagued your mind.

Hanging out in a grassy area, sprinkled with a few trees with some sort've army vehicle parked at one end. You and a group of friends sat on it, one of the doors open making the car look like an open café. Someone inside handed out various snacks, ranging from a protein bar to top S tier chocolate cookies.

That dream faded out, moments blurring together until you found yourself flying above a highway. You could vaguely see two different friends riding ahead of you on motorcycles, talking to an admittedly pretty woman two lanes across, riding a motorcycle very similar to the ones your friends were riding.

You kept pace with them for a few moments, until something happened just out of your eyesight and the first friend was sprawled over the lane, looking like they had crashed but had remained unharmed. You all laughed about it like it was some stupid mishap.

And then you couldn't breath.

Something cold rushed over your head, like a bucket of water. You sputtered and coughed, trying to suck in a breath of fresh air, only to blink your eyes open.

The morning sun was peaking through the closed curtains, giving you enough light to make out the jackass that was Seb pouring a bottle of freezing water over your mouth and nose. You all but slapped the bottle out of his hand, wrenching the sodden blanket off of you as you stood up, more than ready to throw hands with this living embodiment of a stubbed toe.

"What the hell is your problem, you abominable shit goblin?" You felt cold and drenched to the bone, the clothes you were wearing to sleep now thoroughly soaked and freezing. You narrowed you eyes at the now empty two litre bottle of water in his right hand. Seb sneered.

"It was just a prank! It was hilarious! I should be asking you what's your problem, throwing names around like that," You pinched the bridge of your nose and instead decided to busy yourself with finding a new change of clothes to wear. Seb was none too pleased with this.

"C'mon! It was funny, you have to admit. Should've seen the look on your face!" He cackled to himself loudly. You just huffed, flinging aside a pillow in hopes to recover a bag of clothes.

"Don't be such a downer, that was a fun way to wake up!" He took a few steps closer to you, voice starting to raise into an annoyingly high pitch.

"It really wasn't, but okay," You muttered to yourself, getting more and more annoyed when your search came up empty handed. Behind you, he stamped his foot like an overgrown child about to have a temper tantrum.

'How old is this asshole again? Three' You scoffed to yourself, trying to shoulder your way past him to ask your friend about a change of clothes, since you apparently forgot that you didn't bring any. Apparently, this broke the last straw that kept his crummy mind together.

Instead of saying anything, Seb just shoved you into the nearby counter, hucking the metal water bottle in your direction. Luckily, it didn't hit you, and instead clanged loudly on the floor. You both froze, caught in a heat starting contest.

That was until a certain someone made herself know.

"What. The. Fuck. Is going on?" Each word was punctuated with a demonic hiss.

Seb looked like his soul left his body, eyes wide with fright as he sheepishly glanced behind him. Meanwhile, you just hoisted yourself to your feet, using the counter to keep your balance. Your lower back hissed in pain, sure to be sporting a nasty bruise sooner rather than later.

"Actually, don't fucking say anything," DD lashed her tail, looking like she'd just woken up herself. "You. Prick. Asshole. Whatever your name is. Get the fuck out before I use your spine for origami," There was no argument. Not that there was one to begin with. Seb grabbed his stuff before he booked it out of the apartment and back into the cold and lonely streets.

A moment of silence passed between the two of you. DD took a deep breath, trying to rid herself of the annoyance that plagued her mind while you tried to shimmy into a somewhat comfortable position, hissing whenever your back brushed against something.

"You good?" DD seemed much calmer now that he was gone. Her wings looked a little ragged and her hair was frazzled and there were clear bags under her eyes, but that wasn't too out of the ordinary for the one and only DemonDice.

"Kind of," You paused, letting the cold sink into your skin. "Better now that he's gone, but I'm still drenched with no spare clothes," You grinned awkwardly, one that DD returned.

With a shrug, the demon took her own shirt off like the pure chad she was. Luckily she wore a thick-banded, black tank top underneath. With three wide steps the distance between the two of you was closed. You blinked at her with big eyes, heartrate picking up as your face flushed.

"Take your shirt off," You squeaked and sputtered. DD smirked, albeit one you couldn't see, and quirked an eyebrow. Before you could say anything, she cut you off.

"Dude, I saw that prick shove you into the counter. You wince every time you move. There's no way in hell you're gonna be able to change yourself," Her tail swished back and forth behind her, and you swore you heard her mutter something like 'humans and their sensitivity about their bodies... weird' under her breath.

"If you really want to, you can turn around," You just nodded, turned around and peeled your soaking shirt off. Your new bruise throbbed painfully, making your hiss both at the spasm and cold biting your skin.

Before you new it, a nice dry shirt was pulled over your head, much warmer than the soaked top you'd just been wearing. Thankfully, your bottoms were mostly untouched by water. You, however, were more focussed on the two-sizes too big shirt you now wore.

"You can keep it, I got several like it for a deal," DD ruffled your hair playfully, giving you a friendly smile before retreating to her room. You stared after her like a lovestruck teenager.

Meanwhile, poor, confused Ivy just stood outside her room, wondering where Seb had gone, why you were dressed in one of her roommate's clothes and why her roommate was up before 8am.
