I have so many outfits, shirts and so on that I really liked but now, I just can't wear them. Why? Because someone decided to make a "cute joke" about it. Examples: "Oh, nice pirate pants" and "When did you leave Whoville, Cindy?"
Yeah, I'll never be able to wear it again without that thought being in my head. But this really only applies if your opinion matters to me. How to tell if it matters? Test out the theory and if your comment makes me look sad or pissed off then yup, it matters.
Then you try to fix it. So you say "Oh, no baby! I was just kidding. It looks great." hahaha. yeah. right. I do not care if you claim I am being too sensitive or cannot take a joke, it does NOT erase what you said.
I'm pissed off. I'll never wear it again and now you better be prepared for some snarky comments from me.
