Maddy Perez was the HBIC. Everyone who attended East Highland knew that. She and her best friend, Cassie Howard, ruled the halls, along with their friend group. But that was about the only thing that their peers knew about them. Besides the gossip of course, but no one was ever sure rumors were 100 percent true. So, they practically knew nothing about them. The most popular people in their school, and yet they knew close to nothing about them. They knew Maddy was in a relationship with Nate Jacobs, another popular name in their school. They knew Cassie had a reputation of being a slut, excuse the language. But what else? These were people who walked the school halls like they owned everyone in it and every car on the lot, but if people knew the secrets their lives held, that would surely change.
Y/n Y/l/n wasn't the most popular kid. She had the stats to be popular. She moved to Cali from Michigan her freshman year, which meant she could create a new persona. She was rich because her parents own a business that sold cars, having dealerships all over the States and still expanding. She was athletic, great in basketball and track, but she wasn't on either of those teams. She could be popular, she just wasn't. Instead, she was the kid who could be found smoking weed in the bathroom during lunch.
When y/n's assigned as Maddy's tutor, the two are forced to spend time with each other, and by default, get to know each other. The more time Maddy spends away from her boyfriend and with y/n, the more their relationship grows. What happens when the fine line of being friend's or more becomes blurred?
