The ride home was silent Tk didn't say anything Carlos knew better then to try to make him talk he just intertwined there hands rubbing his thumb over the top of Tk's hand letting Tk know that he was here if he did ever want to talk

Carlos occasionally peaked over at Tk only to see a few teardrops roll down his face later that day the two laid in bed Tk's head on Carlos's chest buttercup and Bailey at his feet Carlos pulled the blanket gently over the top of Tk's shoulders then bringing his finger to Tk's head storming Tk's hair out of his face Tk lifted his head up only for Carlos to really see how bad it was based off how flushed his eyes were "thanks .." Tk said laying his head back down

"Hey .." Carlos said lifting Tk's head back up "I'm gonna go get up something to eat .." Carlos said as Tk sat up in bed "I'm not really hungry .." Tk said "you should eat something I'll get your favorite ." Carlos said as buttercup curled onto Tk's lap " hey I love you .." Carlos said lifting Tk's chin up " love you .." Tk whispered

After Tk heard the front door shut he pet buttercup on the head as he whined " I know bud .." Tk whispered kissing the dogs head Tk got off of the bed heading over to the closet getting his work uniform Tk got himself ready leaving a note on the counter for Carlos

"I went to work my shift ends at 12 don't wait up x ." Tk wrote leaving it on the fridge where he knew Carlos would see it he took the dogs out for the bathroom putting some kibble in a bowl for the two " I'll be back later I promise ." Tk said kissing their heads

Tk walked into the station the sound of chatter coming from the kitchen Tk walked into the kitchen as the rest of the team paused their chatter Tk got a mineral water out of the fridge " Tk - we didn't expect to see you today we heard from Carlos -." Marjan said "I'm gonna go put my stuff in my locker .." Tk said giving them a fake smile Tk walked upstairs to what used to be his dads old office soon to be Judd's all his dads stuff was still there the piece of the rubble from 9/11 .The pictures of his mom and him at the beach back when Tk was maybe four or five it's like his dad never left a tear rolled down the side of Tk's face as he looked at the pictures " you don't have to clean it out until your ready me and Judd have no problem sharing an office -." Tommy said appearing in the doorway Tk quickly wiped his eyes " captain you scared me ." Tk said " Tk - what are you doing here ? You should be home ." Tommy said " captain-" Tk said as Tommy cut him off

" Tommy please -" Tommy said coming closer to tk " Tommy .. I'm fine I can do the job just please let me stay .." Tk said scratching his arm nervously " Tk -" Tommy hesitated "please.. I need my mind to be somewhere else ." Tk said tears forming once more In his eyes . " can I give you a hug at-least ?" Tommy asked "I'd like a hug .." Tk said softly as Tommy hugged him tightly
