Carlos had driven tk and Owen tk the airport just in time for them to head to New York for Gwynn's funeral
"Thanks for dropping us off Carlos .." Owen said hugging him " always .." Carlos said, "tk You'll catch up ?." Owen said rubbing his son's shoulder " yeah one-sec dad ." Tk said Owen made his way to the gate as tk turned around to look at Carlos "thank you for everything yesterday and today .." tk said, "you're not going through this alone ." Carlos said holding Tk's hands "I know .." tk said "are your gonna be okay ?" tk asked, "don't worry about me I'll hold it down just focus on you and I'll be waiting right here when you get back ." Carlos said, " are you gonna be okay ?" Carlos asked looking at tk softly tk took a deep breath " I will be eventually .." Tk's said hugging Carlos Carlos held on tight as he kissed Tk's hair
*gate 319 is now boarding *
Tk pulled back "I should get going .." tk said as Carlos whipped his tears " right ..." Carlos said "be
safe take care of yourself and know I'm only a call away if you need to talk ." Carlos said, " I love you ." Tk said as their lips met Carlos watched as tk walked farther away from him towards his gate tk turned his head back to look at Carlos seeing how he was still standing there looking at him Carlos blew him a kiss tk gave him a light smile before catching up with his dad he handed the flight attendant his ticket before heading into the plane " we got this ." Owen said wrapping his arm around his son " yeah .." tk said
They took their seats on the plane getting settled "in the unlikely event of an emergency we ask you please stay seated buckled with the mask that will come down from the compartments above each of your seats ."
In the middle of the flight, tk got up "Im gonna go to the bathroom real quick ." Tk said to his dad "okay son ." Owen smiled lightly at his son as he walked down the aisle " so what brings you to New York ?" The woman who was on the seat next to tk " his mother passed away unexpectedly we're going to the funeral." Owen said with a sigh "how's he doing ?" The woman asked "better .." Owen said looking at the lady "god life's relentless isn't it .." she said, " it sure is .." Owen agreed with her " Im sorry I didn't even get to introduce myself I'm Claire." She said " Owen ." He said with a slight smile
"Do you feel that ?" Claire said as the plane started shaking and the mask dropped from the ceiling " Tk ." Owen said under my breath he struggled to get his seatbelt off " sir please stay still and put the mask over your face ." The flight attendant said to Owen "no my son !" Owen said
"Everyone attention please stay in your seats! Remain calm and put the mask over your face !"
The plane started to have smoke come out from it it was bumpy and started to go onto its side tk made his way out of the bathroom grabbing into the strays to try to make it through the isles to his dad "DAD!" Tk called as the plane shifted more tk felt back to the back of the plane by where the bathroom was "DAD!" He called once more the fear of loosening another parent riveting through his mind
When he plain steadied as they tried to sort out the issue Owen saw Claire with a deep cut in the side of her chest he got out of his seat despite the flight attendant's wishes finding tk on the floor in the back " tk!" Owen said dropping to the floor to hug his son "dad .."tk said grasping onto his father " thank you for your okay I was so worried ." He said rubbing his son back
"I'm gonna need your help ." Owen said as he led his son up to their isle " if you two could sit down it would be greatly appreciated ." The flight attendant said " I'm Owen I'm a firefighter and this is my son tk he's a paramedic this woman had a severe injury to her side possibly puncturing one of her lungs we need to treat her or she's going to die right here on this plane ." Owen said " do you have a medical kit ?" Tk asked, "yes yes I'll bring it ." She said Owen and tk got her to the back on flat ground
" you sure your confident you can do this ?" Owen said, " you didn't hit your head or anything ." Owen said holding his son's hand "I got this dad ." Tk said
*flashback*
"Tk I know it's not going to be easy okay ?" Gwynn said looking at her son "but I need you to make me a promise .." Gwynn said holding her son " a promise that your gonna fight okay ?" Gwynn said, "fight to get clean and stay clean ." Gwynn said rubbing her son's arm " I promise ." Tk said as Gwynn hugged him " thank you, honey ." She said stroking his hair "sign here ." The nurse said as tk signed " I'll be back to pick you up in a few days okay ?" Gwynn said as tk nodded "I love you ." Gwynn said
"Tk ?" Owen said
"Hello? " Owen said
*End of flashback *
"You sure you got this ?" Owen said " yeah ." Tk said got the scissors out of the kit cutting the woman's sweater off covering her with the blanket he hooked her up to IV telling his dad to hold it he got the scalpel cutting around the wound as the woman woke up "what happened!" The woman panicked "what's her name ?" He asked his dad " Claire ." Owen aid holding her hand "hi Claire my name Tk there's was an accident and you got a little busted up but I'm gonna help you okay but I need you to stay still .." tk said " okay okay okay .." she said, "just like that stay calm ." Tk said tk removed the part of the seat that was stuck in her side
"She has hyperthermia.." tk said as she started declining " what ?" Owen said " I need ice and a sling " tk said starting cot Owen came back with the bucket of ice that they kept the ice in and an arm sling from some random guy who broke his arm " her blood is overheating her heat regulation system is overwhelmed Tk's said pushing fluids "cmon Claire ." Tk said
Meanwhile Carlos got news on his phone " flight 319 engine failure ". Appeared in his phone his body went into shock the thought of losing tk overwhelmed his mind he tried calling tk multiple times in hope of anything a response nothing "god please let him be okay ." Carlos said running his fingers through his hair
"I got a pulse !" Tk said joyfully " cmon Claire keep it coming ." Tk said as Claire opened her eyes "welcome back ." Tk said smiling at her " thank you .." Claire said, " can you call my son?" She asked tk " as soon as we get off you just focus on resting ." Tk said, "I'm proud of you kid ." Owen said " thanks dad .." tk said
When they got off the plane they headed to the hotel His dad put the key through the door " I should call Carlos I'm sure he's probably having a heart attack ." Tk's said getting out his phone " I don't think that's necessary." Carlos said sitting on the bed "what are you doing here ?" Tk said wrapping his arms around him " well when I found out about the plane I booked a last-minute flight because I knew that when you made it off I wouldn't be able to not hug you after something like that ." Carlos said kissing his head as Owen watched "I'm glad you guys are okay ." Carlos said
