BLAKE

Sighing, I twisted in my seat nervously, tapping my foot on the floor loudly. My mum glanced at me curiously, although she still kept a confident smile on her face. "You okay?" She asked with a smile.

I dropped my spoon back into my bowl and shook my head. "I'm nervous about today. Ashton seemed okay when I called him, but I don't know. I don't want things to be awkward"

"Miel, it'll be fine," Mum kissed my head softly, pushing my cup of coffee closer to me, "People break up all the time when in school, and they manage to survive, so I'm sure you can"

"Yeah, but I told him I was going to give him a second chance, but then got with Cal that same night. I don't think that happens to all teenagers"

Mum shook her head at me. "You're being over dramatic, just like your father. Ah! Your father!" She grinned and sat beside me, "I was 18 when I had you, and Jackson was 19. We were together until I was 20, and you were 2, because that's when I realised I really liked girls. Yes, we weren't in school, but we still saw each other regularly because of you, and we managed. So I'm sure you can"

Sighing, I shoved more cereal into my mouth. She left the room smiling, but it didn't calm my nerves. Sure, her and dad were still friends, but their situation was different. They had a child together, Ashton and I didn't.

What made me more nervous was that Luke had mentioned Ashton was a violent person, and I was scared that he would get angry at Calum or myself and have a violent outburst. Calum looked strong, but definitely not as strong as Ashton. Interrupting my thoughts, my mum yelled at me that we had to leave soon.

On the way to school, my mum tried to calm my nerves again by playing my favourite music and singing along, knowing she was a terrible singer and that it always made me laugh. It did, and I almost forgot about Ashton. Almost

Next thing I know, I was standing back outside the school gates, wearing a striped shirt with overalls over it. "Babe!" Calum grinned, engulfing his arms around me.

"Morning" I let him kiss me quickly before pulling away to hug Luke and Michael, letting the two boys wrap their arms around me together.

"Thank God you're here" Luke sighed in relief. "Calum was starting to get annoying because all he ever did was talk about how he missed you, despite seeing you yesterday"

"Shut up!" Calum hissed.

Laughing, I stepped back. "Where's Yasmin?" I questioned as the four of us walked to the quad.

"I don't know," Michael explained, frowning. "I haven't seen her"

I glanced around in surprise. "We left at the same time. She was getting into someone's car this morning"

Just then, we spotted Ashton walking towards us with Yasmin next to him, laughing. "Blake!" She glanced at me in surprise before her face slowly turned to an expression of shock. "Oh my God, Blake. Hi!"

Frowning, I stepped back. Ashton looked away nervously, scratching his neck. Yasmin smiled shyly. "You know I could've driven you this morning" I tell her.

"Yeah. I know, but I already had a lift, so it's cool" She shrugged, biting down on her lip. "Can I talk to you? Over there?" She nodded her head behind my shoulder. I nodded and followed her to a spot away from the boys. "I'm sorry"

"For what?" I furrowed my eyebrows and narrowed my eyes in confusion. "For being friends with Ashton? Yasmin, I don't mind. You can be friends with who ever you want"

"Are you sure?"

Nodding, I pulled her into a hug. "I can't tell you who you can or can't be friends with" Yasmin pulled away and smiled in relief. "Now, come on" We walked back to the boys slowly. Calum was standing just behind Luke with a triumphant smile and Ashton was staring at Yasmin and I.

"Hey, Blake" Ashton said as we walked towards them. "How have you been?"

"Good, thanks" I reply, unsure. Calum wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pulled me closer, kissing the top of my head. Ashton glanced away, looking at Yasmin with pleading eyes.

"I"ll see you guys later" Yasmin said quickly before hurrying away with Ashton following.

Luke turned to me. "What happened there?" He asked, "When did this happen?"

Shrugging, I looked around for a cool spot to sit down at. "But don't say anything to her alright? She can be friends with whoever she wants, okay?" Walking over to a spot underneath a tree, I looked behind me to make sure Calum was following. "And Calum, don't do that"

"What?" Calum glanced at me surprised, watching as I sat down against the tree. "What'd I do?"

"The hug? The kiss?" I raised my eyebrow. "You don't need to be jealous, okay? So never do that again"

Calum averted his eyes. His arms were crossed over his chest as he stood in front of me. "Sorry that I'm scared of losing you" He murmured.

Luke rolled his eyes at me as he slid to the floor. "Seriously, Cal? No need to hurt Ashton like that, man. He really liked Blake"

"Shut up" Calum snapped. I froze and stared at him with wide eyes, Michael and Luke having similar expressions. Without another word, Calum spun around and walked away from us, his hands clenched into fists.

"What's his problem?" Michael whistled slowly, shaking his head.
