It was obvious that the game had an ending that no one wanted, they were all disappointed but there were not much they could do, the tie between Espanyol and Barcelona wasn't the result they hoped for, or the red cards, but it was what they got.

Not that exciting for the first game after the world cup and the first of the 2023 year.

It was clear the two red cards towards the end of the game was also a subject of debate between all the players, she could hear the conversations coming from the Espanyol locker room, the same tone that she heard in the Barcelona guest locker room.

The bus ride back to Barcelona was pretty short and Mila was sure that everyone was glad about that, not only were they all tired but also just hoping for a good night of sleep and rest. She was one of those, university had been killing her.

— Mila, you're coming with us — Nico said dragging the girl as soon as she collected her belongings from the bus.

She just wanted to go home.

— What? I wanna go home — She sighed and they looked between one another and finally back at the girl

— We're going to order some chinese, then we are going to do it at your place — Eric said and she was stuck thinking for a bit before sighing and nodding her head

— Text the address to Eric and you're coming with me — Pedri said while she nodded following the rest of the boys, although she was tired, she knew rejecting another hang out with them was a lost cause and at least if she was home she didn't have to wait long to sleep.

The ride to her apartment was short, she was guiding Pedri, who forgot parts of the path to her place, while noting that the 18 year old footballer sat next to her was way too silent. More than usual.

As much as she wanted to keep quiet, she knew how it felt to not achieve what you hoped for, what you wanted, trust her, she had lots of moments with her father being way too harsh, and she could sense that the boy was feeling sort of down because of the game.

There wasn't much she could do when they were in a car alongside Pedri and Nico but she hoped she would have a moment with him back at her place to try and help him out.

— Welcome to my humble home — She opened the door of her apartment letting the boys inside, besides Pedri and Pablo no one had been there and truth be told, her apartment was everything but humble.

Thanks to Max Verstappen for sponsoring.

— I'll pretend like you didn't say this was humble — Ferran pointed out and Sira, his girlfriend, laughed.

— You live on your own? — She asked the young girl she had met that day and she nodded

— Yeah, but trust me, this wasn't my idea, my parents and my brother just have a crazy thought that they needs to approve of safety and security of the places, all my choices were rejected. — She confessed and they chuckled — Make yourself at home, I'm going to shower real quick.

She went towards the last room of the hallway and remembered that Sira maybe wanted to do the same, returning to the living room space to see everyone scattered in the couches.

— Sira, if you want I can borrow you some clothes as well — She smiled kindly at the older girl who nodded getting up and following her into another room, being given some clothes and unworn underwear.

While the two of them showered and got themselves cleaned up, the boys were too busy making themselves at home, in other words, turning her PS5 on.

— Ok, we have FIFA and this F1 game... So, FIFA, right? — Nico asked and the boys nodded, creating the order on who would go first

The game was soon started and the moment she stepped foot back into the living room, at the same time as Sira, she chuckled.

— Should I be surprised? — Sira said seating next to her boyfriend while they watched Gavi celebrate the goal he had just scored on Pedri in the final seconds of the match

At least he looked a little happier.

— The food is downstairs, can someone come with me? Pablo you're not in line to play soon, right?— She asked and he nodded standing up and following her out of the apartment

She didn't know if she should talk or not, but unfortunately her side of helping people out came out and while they waited for the elevator to arrive she opened her mouth

— Are you okay? — She asked looking at the footballer who looked back at her nodding — Sure? You looked kinda down today

— Yeah, just shitty end to the game I guess, plus, truth be told, I was subbed, so I played like shit — He chuckled dryly

— You did not play like shit Gavi, let's be honest, the game was going to shit once the rivalry came out, you didn't do anything wrong, we can win all the time — She said placing her hand on his arm and he sighed nodding

— I know, just... I don't know, for the rest of the day is inevitable — He confessed

— Just make sure that you distract yourself tonight, all your friends are reunited and I'm pretty sure everyone in there is with the same goal... But tomorrow once you wake up, make sure it's in the past and just focus on what needs to be done for the next ones — She said looking at his face just as the elevator arrived at their floor

— Thanks Mila — He said while placing his hand on the end of her back following her inside the elevator

— Anytime. Now, let's get this food and feed you guys.

— You say it as if you weren't hungry — He said ironically and she shrugged

— Just get the heaviest one and I'll get this one.
