LUKANETTE S4 - QILIN - PT 1

Start from the beginning

Outside, Marinette goes to find somewhere to transform.

'Your mom is really amazing. Even though she's so busy, she always manages to organize so well!' Tikki says from her purse.

Marinette smiles. 'The exact opposite of me. Do you realize Tikki, I'm more than a month late for Mother's Day! I wanted to make her something but with everything going on I barely had time get started on it. It's such a bummer because today would've been the perfect day to make it up to her.' She gasps. 'Hang on! What if I buy her a gift before going to meet her, and give it to her at the restaurant!'

'Great idea Marinette!' Tikki smiles. 'But first, we've got to take care of a sentimonster.'

Marinette nods and finds a bathroom. 'Tikki, spots on!' A red light flashes from inside and Ladybug appears, putting on her LadyCam and she swings away towards the sentimonster.

Back at Tom & Sabine's Boulangerie Patisserie, Tom hands Sabine a to-go bag as she approaches him. 'The choquettes for your students are ready to go my brilliant artist!' he smiles.

'Thanks, my love!' Sabine says as she kisses him goodbye and heads out the door.

Sabine is running her painting class in the Art classroom at the Collège Françoise Dupont.

Sabine speaks to the class: 'Chinese paintbrushes are very different from western paintbrushes. They allow you to easily master the five shades of ink. Dry, concentrate, thick, clear and diluted.' Sabine walks over to Lila Rossi and fixes her position of the paintbrush. 'If you use them well, all these nuances can make up all the colours, texture and light you need to represent the world.'

Kagami is there too, still doing her sketches.

'Mrs Dupain-Cheng, I want to thank you for allowing me to sketch in your art class. And for all of the help that you've given me over the past few months' Kagami smiles.

'You're very welcome, dear' Sabine smiles, giving her a choquette which she takes. 'You've certainly improved a lot. And you must be very fond of this boy.'

Sabine points to her sketch of Adrien and smiles as Kagami blushes.

'In fact, I think this is your best work yet! I'm sure your mother would be proud!' Sabine smiles.

Kagami looks sad.

'What's wrong dear?' Sabine says, noticing her downcast look.

Kagami sighs. 'My mother doesn't like me drawing. She thinks I'm not good enough. She thinks my time is better spent doing noble arts like archery or fencing. This is the only time I have to work on my sketches. I've been lying to her these past few months telling her I'm doing one on one fencing classes with Adrien, just so I can have the chance to work on my passion.'

As if on cue, Tomoe Tsrugi burst through the door. 'Kagami! What is the meaning of this?!'

'Mother!' Kagami replied. 'I can explain!'

'I hope so, because imagine my shock to find out that this morning upon calling Gabriel that Adrien is having a photoshoot this morning when you told me you were having a fencing lesson with him!' Tomoe replied angrily.

Kagami took a deep breath. 'Mother, I love to draw. I know you don't approve of it, or can appreciate it but it's something that I'm passionate about! And I will continue to do it for as long as I can!'

'I don't care for this attitude young lady! And I will not tolerate being lied to. Come with me, we're going home right now!' Tomoe replied.

Sabine was angry and stood between them, holding Kagami back gently with her hand, not allowing Kagami to go anywhere. 'Now look here Mrs Tsrugi! Your daughter is a very talented young lady! I'm an art teacher and I have never seen such beautiful detail and precision put into her sketches! You should be proud of your daughter and supporting her in all her passions. This is what true parenting is all about!'

Tomoe was taken aback and sighs.

'Fine, I will allow you to keep doing this class Kagami. But you will do an extra hour of Russian as soon as you get home!' she says, as she leaves, closing the door with a thud behind her.

Kagami looked at Sabine with gratitude as the whole class claps for Sabine. 'Thank you, Mrs Dupain-Cheng. My mother is not the easiest person to convince.'

'You're welcome, dear. If you've found something that you love to do, you need to keep doing it, no matter what anyone says' Sabine smiled.

'I see where your daughter gets her determination from. She's a very unique friend to have' Kagami smiles.

Suddenly, the tables shake and a loud thud occurs from outside the building. The class get up to look out the window.

Outside the Collège Françoise Dupont, Lollipop Boy walks past the building while dragging Ladybug who's trying to hold to him by wrapping around his waist with her yo-yo.

'Cat Noir, use your stick to block his way!' Ladybug cries out.

Cat Noir is running along on top of the school. 'Got it LB!' Cat Noir spreads his staff to the ground to stop the lollipop sentimonster as the class watch Lollipop Boy trip and fall to the ground.

Sabine sighs. 'Those poor kids. They spent the whole night saving Paris, and they're already back in action.'

The miraculous Ladybug's are summoned and fix the broken structures caused by the Lollipop sentimonster. Ladybug and Chat Noir jump from building to building to return.

In the alleys, Ladybug takes off the LadyCam and puts it back in her yo-yo and detransforms.

'Spots off!' Marinette de-transforms back into her civilian form and feeds Tikki a macaroon. 'Now we can go meet up with my mom!'

'But what about her present Marinette?' Tikki asked.

Marinette gasps. 'Oh no, I forgot to ask Dad for some money so he could wire it from my account! I don't have time to go back home now, I'll have to get her a present later! Besides, if I don't run now, I'll miss the bus!'
