The pill tasted. . . weird.

In fact, there was no taste at all. The pill was still in my mouth, and I was trying to extract any sort of taste from it, but I failed. It just felt like a little lump on my tongue.

Frowning, I swallowed it, disappointed that I felt nothing after putting it in my mouth. I was wondering why you had given it to me, and how it was supposed to help me, but I found out soon after.

As soon as the pill went past my oesophagus, my vision cleared all of a sudden. I could see the world with a newfound clarity. All my senses were ten times better, and I felt a surge of energy flow through my body.

I felt. . . alive.

Something I hadn't fully experienced since my childhood days.

The feeling of not just merely existing, but actually living, made me smile widely. And this time, it didn't feel uncomfortable or weird.

I was getting used to smiling because of you.
