Destiny: "so..what do you like to do for fun besides play basketball?" She asked as we waited for our food to come

"mostly chill and kick it with my friends. You?"

Destiny: "I barely have friends so I'm either at work or at home most of the time" she nodded

I had the urge to tell her that I heard about her doing shady shit but I decided not the ruin the mood and keep my mouth shut

Destiny: "what made you wanna play basketball?"

"Um...I don't know. It's always been a dream of mine since I was a kid. I believe I was born to ball" I shrugged

Destiny: "that's cool how you've already found your calling in life already. I'm not sure what I wanna do just yet"

"I'd say just to try out different things until you find something"

Destiny: "I used to play soccer but I quit a couple years ago"

"Ahh okay. Not for you?"

Destiny: "actually I liked it..I just couldn't deal with the team of girls. It was always high school gossiping with them"

"High school was a good time...well when I went it was" he laughed

Destiny: "I'm assuming you had friends" she laughed

"Oh I did." I chuckled

Destiny: "I remember having the biggest crush on one of your old friends ; you still cool with them?"

Why would she tell me that?

"Yeah, we're still cool but we're all so busy that we barely speak to each other; it's nothing but love for my brothers though. I truly wish them the best" I shrugged

I completely skipped over the part about her having a crush on Don because I already heard what went on between them two

Destiny: "I remember y'all having chino hills in a chokehold" she laughed

"Those were the good old days for real. I think that's when I realized that I was really good at hoopin"

"Who's your favorite basketball player?"

"Uhhh...me" I said as I popped my invisible collar

Destiny: "mine used to be Micheal Jordan"

"Used to be?"

Destiny: "yeah my dad works in the lawyers office and met him a couple years ago. He invited my family to his daughters sweet 16"

"Was the party boring or something?" I laughed

Destiny: "no it was pretty cool. It was just a little over the top for me."

It's a sweet 16; It's supposed to be over the top

Is she dumb?

Maybe she never had one..

Destiny: "too many celebrities and cameras flashing. I expected it to be a close knit celebration for his kid but clear it was only for publicity"

I looked at her in confusion as our food came to the table

"When you're a celebrity those other celebrities become your family..Just because you're famous doesn't mean you're not a person."

Destiny: "I know but I just expected a small amount of friends, 80% family, and maybe some acquaintances. To me it looked like a red carpet event" she shrugged
