Demetri: And the dogs?

Y/N: I don't know what he was thinking with that one.

Demetri: And you're still training with him?

Y/N: I mean, he's a great guy.

Johnny: Let's go, Miyagi's. Move your asses!

You, Sensei Lawrence, and the rest of the Miyagi-Do's make it to the top of the roof.

He walks to the edge of it, and you all look over. There's a pile of mattresses on the ground below.

Demetri: Oh god. I'm tired of being right.

You all back away and Sensei Lawrence stands in front of you.

Sam: What are we doing here?

Johnny: When an eagle's hungry, it doesn't hesitate. It'll dive down at a hundred miles an hour to snatch its prey. Doesn't wait around for a fish to jump in its feet.

Demetri: Talons.

Johnny: It's not talent. It's instinct.

Y/N: I-it's. Never mind.

You were going to tell him what talons are, but you've learned that he doesn't know a whole lot and questions everything, so you decide to stop.

Johnny: An eagle knows it has to make the first move. If you want to beat Cobra Kai in the All Valley, you gotta break yourself of this wait-and-see crap.

Sam: And how exactly are we gonna do that?

Johnny: You're gonna jump from this roof...

He points at another building next to the one you're all on.

Johnny:...to that one.

Sam: What!? Are you crazy?

Demetri: That building is, like, five Nates away and we're at least fourteen Nates high.

Nate: Please, don't use me as a system of measurement.

Johnny: Quiet!

Everyone in Miyagi-Do jumps, besides you. You're used to his shouting now.

Johnny: If you wanna be an eagle, first you gotta learn how to fly. And you can't do that unless you jump.

Abe: What if we fall?

Johnny: That's what the mattresses are for.

Demetri: And if we miss the mattresses?

Johnny: Try not to. Alright, who's first?

Everyone looks at each other.

Johnny: We're not leaving 'til someone jumps.

You notice no one even budging, so you step forward.

Y/N: I'll do it, Sensei.

Demetri: What!? No, you're not. This is insane.

Y/N: Come on. I'll take one for the team.

Johnny: He's right, L/N, you're not going to be the one jumping.

Y/N: What? Why not? You said that we'll be able to leave, once somebody does it. And I'm pretty sure I'm a somebody.

Johnny: Because you've already proven to me, several times, that you can let out your inner eagleness.

Y/N: That's not a word—

Johnny: Quiet!

You get startled and step back.

Johnny: Anyone else? Let's go. I'll wait.

Sam: Then I guess you'll be waiting a long time. 'Cause, we're not jumping.

Everyone walks away and sits down, taking their backpacks off and setting it next to them.

Johnny: L/N.

You go to Sensei Lawrence.

Johnny: Who do you think could make it?

Y/N: I'm not too sure. But I know who won't be able to. Nate, he's too small. Demetri has the range, but not the leg power to jump all the way across. His hands could probably make it to the edge, but that means he'll have to use his upper body strength to pull himself up. Which wouldn't go well.

Johnny: Okay...

Y/N: And...where did you get those mattresses?

Johnny: In a dumpster.

Y/N: I thought so, Sensei.

Johnny: It was next to a burned-down Chuck E. Cheese.

Y/N: 'Cause all of the ones down there, look like they would be giving all of us diseases.

You go sit with the others and set down your backpack.

Demetri: Has he changed his mind?

You look at Demetri.

Demetri: What am I saying? He drowned you. There's no way he would.

Three Hours Later

Other than Sam talking to Sensei Lawrence at one point, you've all been sitting down.

Johnny: So no one wants to fly? You all just want to stay in the nest. Pathetic! Alright fine, you win. You can bore Cobra Kai into submission. You all failed. Grab your crap and let's go.

You and everyone else get up and grab your backpacks.

Demetri: Finally.

Nate: There is no way, I would ever be able to make that.

You all start walking to the door, then you notice Sam stop and look to the right, at the other rooftop.

She steps down her bag and takes a few steps back. Sam starts running, she leaps onto a wooden pallet, steps on the edge of the building, and jumps. She soars through the air and her arms flail around, as she heads to the other building. She lands on the roof of it and rolls on impact.

All of the Miyagi-Do Students yell out and cheer. Sensei Lawrence puts his arms in the air.

Y/N: Wooooo!

Johnny: Nice move, LaRusso!

Demetri: Holy shit!

Y/N: Yeaahhhh!

Nate: Awesome!

Sam smiles while on the other side.

The Next Day, at the Miyagi-Do Dojo

Mr. LaRusso has the Eagle Fang Students in the backyard. Apparently, they didn't finish the training yesterday. Eli told you that, they're trying to catch fish in the koi pond, only with their bare hands.

Sensei Lawrence hasn't arrived yet. You and all of the Miyagi-Do's wait in the front yard, and until he gets there. Today, he'll be teaching you guys some stuff at the dojo.

He eventually does pull up, he's driving in his Eagle Fang branded caravan and then gets out of it.

Sam: So? What's the plan for today? Something else life-threatening?

Johnny: Oh yeah, but now you're ready. Remember, if you get put in a scary situation, you don't back down. You gotta grow a pair...

Sensei Lawrence looks at Sam.

Johnny:...of legs. To jump.

Sam: It's okay. We understand. Sensei.

He smiles.

Johnny: Alright, let's get to work.

Sensei Lawrence walks into the backyard and all of you follow him.

You and the Miyagi-Do's see Mr. LaRusso on the sparring deck with Miguel, giving him a matching headband of his own.

Everyone goes up to them.

Miguel turns around as Mr. LaRusso ties the headband that represents perseverance, courage, and strength, around his head. They face back at each other and bow, with big smiles on their faces.
