-Lexa's POV-

I woke up that morning to an empty bed. Clarke was nowhere to be found but I could smell breakfast being made downstairs. She must have gotten up early to help her mom cook.

I swung myself off of Clarke's huge bed and put my feet on the cold hardwood floor. Before I went downstairs I walked into the guest room to put on a pair of socks. Massachusetts mornings were way colder than a New York could ever be.

When I came down the stairs I found Clarke in the kitchen setting the counter on the island for breakfast.

"Good morning, sleepy head." She walked over to me and kissed me quickly.

"Clarke." I exclaimed, pulling away from her. "Your mom - "

"Is at work right now. She got called in early there was an issue with one of her patients." She said, kissing me again. "We have the house all to ourselves. Are you hungry?"

I looked over at all of the food Clarke made. Actually I was starving. We sat on our stools and Clarke piled my plate high with pancakes and eggs and bacon and then walked over to the coffee maker near the fridge.

"Black, right?" She said as she poured me a cup.

"Yeah, thanks."

She walked over and placed the cup down in front of me and gave me a kiss before returning to her breakfast. Everything about this morning was different than pervious mornings between us. We were finally alone, without friends or school or other responsibilities. This kind of togetherness was something that I could definitely get used to. Things were so comfortable and easy. My mind filled with thoughts of Clarke and I living together and spending all of our mornings this way.

"So, I was thinking," Clarke spoke and pulled me out of my daydream. "I want to take you somewhere today."

"Oh really?" I said with a mouth full of pancake. "Where are we going?"

"Well, I can't tell you. It's a surprise."

Damnit, this was totally retribution for me surprising her last week. "Can I at least have a hint?"

"Dress cute, but sporty." She said raising her eyebrows at me and sticking out her tongue. Yeah this was definitely her payback.

After breakfast I stood up to help clean but was stopped by Clarke wrapping her hands around my wait and pulling me backward.

"Oh no." She said laughing. "You have to go get changed. I'll clean." She pushed me towards the stairs then turned towards the kitchen to clean up.

Cute and sporty. Did I own anything cute and sporty? I went into the guest room to change and I found a pair of cut off spandex and and exercise tank from Victorias Secret. I thanked my past self for thinking to pack this as I changed and laced up my sneakers. I pulled my hair back into a high ponytail and then headed down the stairs to meet Clarke.

When she looked at me her mouth opened a little and I couldn't help but blush at her reaction.

"You. Look. Great." She said as she kissed me. "Wait here I need to go change."

I sat at the counter where I found two drawstring bags packed with food and water bottles. What was this girl planning?

Clarke ran down the stairs and grabbed the blue bag on the counter. She handed me the green one and then walked towards the garage. I followed and together we got into her white Prius and she drove off.

She instructed me to connect my phone to her car with Bluetooth and then to pick some music. I did as I was told and I put on my favorite driving playlist. We listened to Shut up and Dance by Walk the Moon and sang along to every word. I found myself looking over at Clarke quite often and couldn't help but smile at the amazing girl that I was spending the week with. In New York, Clarke was always a little more reserved, with the only exception being when she was drinking at parties of course. Here at home though she was carefree and outspoken. It was good to see this side of her.
