Second Person POV (set in early 2000's)

Taking Levi sightseeing throughout your city is a day you'll consider as one of your favorites. It wasn't often that you got to meet new people like him and share your home in such a special way. The most you've ever done for a tourist was point them in the direction of whatever monument they were looking for, never coming to this extent, though.

Pieck would probably be disappointed in you for not dressing nicer today but nothing was planned nor anticipated. However, now, you may be thinking to step it up everyday in case situations like this happen more often. Completely comfortable in your (outfit of choice), Levi strides beside you in his own comfortable, yet, fashionable ensemble. Dressed in a black button-up with slacks and dress shoes, he looks like a model from a magazine.

The language barrier is still a challenge but its becoming a bit easier the more comfortable you feel around each other. Granted, you still barely understand each other without the help of Levi's dictionary. Part of you wants to stop relying on the booklet but ditching it completely would result in miscommunication.

As the early evening arrives and the streets begin filling with more people post-work, Levi finds himself growing closer to your form, staying in a reasonable proximity as to not get lost in the crowd. Glancing his way, you flash him a quick smile, rounding a corner of the street towards a brewery. "Aimes-tu la bière ou le vin?" ("Do you like beer or wine?") You ask, facing forward again as he strides beside you. "Alcohol?" Levi questions, shooting you a glance as he processes the question. Nodding your head in confirmation, Levi shakes his own head. "I prefer tea over alcohol." He responds.

Able to understand two words from his response, you grab his hand to pull him a different direction. "Je vais obtenir les boissons, mais attends ici." ("I'm going to get drinks, but wait here.") You stop in front of the man to face him once you reach a little café. Tilting his head ever so slightly, Levi goes to reach for his dictionary but you're already gone by the time he starts to pull it out. Wondering what you're up to, Levi stays put, hoping you return in a timely manner so he doesn't have to stand awkwardly in the middle of a street for too long.

In a matter of minutes, you emerge from the café's doors, holding two to-go cups, along with packets of sweeteners. "Voilà!" ("Here!") You smile brightly as you hold out a warm cup for him. A tad confused, Levi hesitates to take the cup. When he does grasp it, he lifts the lid up to see black tea inside. "You remembered which kind?" His metal eyes meet yours again. "Oui, je l'ai acheté pour toi!" ("Yes, I bought it for you!") You beam, answering a bit incorrectly but neither of you understand anyway. Before he has a chance to respond, you hold up a few sweetener packets. "J'ai du sucre aussi pour ton thé." ("I also have sugar for your tea.") You hold them out for Levi but he gently shakes his head. "Oh, I prefer it unsweetened. Non, merci." ("No thanks.") He fits the lid back on the cup to take a sip.

Stuffing the packets in your pocket to save instead of wasting them, you sip from your own cup, enjoying the (insert your favorite drink). "Oh, tu as faim?" ("Oh, are you hungry?") You suddenly decide to ask as you continue strolling through town. Rubbing your stomach with a free hand to charade the question for his comprehension, Levi nods slightly. "Hungry? A bit." He replies, noticing a herd of people heading your direction. "Nous peuvons chercher pour un restaurant par là." ("We can look for a restaurant over there.") You nod your head to the side, towards the lake. This means you will have to push your way through the incoming crowd.

Shuffling through the multiple bodies filling the street, you guide Levi through as he follows directly behind you, not minding the fact that you're squeezing his free hand. Neither of you will admit the butterflies it gives you. While walking, one person roughly bumps into Levi's side, mumbling a "pardon" as they move on by. Composing himself, the raven doesn't realize a very important possession had fallen out of his pocket during the accident: his dictionary.

By the time you finish your drinks, you make it to the other side of town to a small family-owned restaurant, sitting down with Levi. Only when you ask what he's going to have is when he notices his missing dictionary. Patting his pockets, he looks under the table, trying to hide his frantic expression. "I think I dropped it by the door..." The raven mumbles, quickly excusing himself to look near the entrance. Unfortunately, there's no sign of it. Returning to the table in defeat, he realizes he'll have to try his best to communicate without it.

The good news is that the challenge made it more fun, filling the evening with laughter from you and a few moments of embarrassment for Levi. Although, he would rather not recall his misunderstandings. You swear you caught a few blushes there, too. After dinner, you offer to buy him a new dictionary but Levi declines, as you've already done plenty for him. Plus, all the dictionaries have been wiped off the shelves in every gift shop in town due to tourists.

Now, finding yourselves at the Impérial Beach, at the end of a pier, you sit down to dangle your legs over the edge. Levi sits on your left, his legs reaching higher/lower/equal to/than yours, as you look out over Lake Annecy. The bright aqua-blue lake is a much deeper hue at dusk, close to a sapphire. Without too much thought, your hand subconsciously finds the man's, resting overtop of his own. Glancing down at your gentle touch, Levi's metal eyes trail up your arm until he faces your side profile. The last bit of remaining sun highlights your features just right, making his heart beat rapidly against his chest.

Almost reading his mind, your (color) eyes peel off the horizon to gaze into Levi's view with a soft grin. Feeling the same butterflies, you decide to ask what's been on your mind the past few minutes. "Je peux baiser toi?" ("Can I kiss you?") Your voice is just barely more than a whisper. "I don't understand."  Levi mumbles breathlessly, not realizing how tranced he is. "Puis... j'espère tu comprendre mon corps." ("Then... I hope you understand my body.") Your eyes slowly flutter shut as you lean in closer to the man. Slightly caught off guard, Levi is quick to give in, his own eyes gradually shutting out the world.

Other hand finding the edge of your jaw, Levi cups the side of your face, slender fingers tickling the back of your head as he pulls you in closer. The hand you left over his trails up his toned arm, finding his round shoulder. Lost in the moment by his tantalizing façade, you eventually pull back to catch your breath, noses touching as you look into each other's eyes. Slightly panting, a small smile forms on your separated lips, never imagining this moment would actually happen. "I think... I understood you." Levi whispers in the silence, amusement lying behind his intense eyes. Grinning at the male, you purse your lips as you avert your gaze to the water, blush never leaving your face.

"Dis-moi!" ("Tell me!") Pieck begs across from you at the kitchen table in your apartment. You still haven't told her anything about your day with Levi yesterday, keeping her on edge. Playfully rolling your eyes, you pull out a paper from your pocket, sliding it over in front of her. "Eh?" She quirks a brow in confusion. "Son é-mail!" ("His email!") You explain, causing her eyes to grow large. "Quoi?! Quand est le mariage?!" ("What?! When is the wedding?!") She gasps as she rises from her seat. "Je ne sais pas... mais, je l'aime." ("I don't know... but, I like him.") Your cheeks hurt from grinning at the thought of seeing him again and this is only the beginning.

I am once again disclaiming that I'm not fluent French 😳

I tried the best I could to get it accurate, hopefully I'm close. Anyway, sorry this took awhile, taking two foreign languages at once beats me UP.
